At what age would you let your child get Facebook, Instagram, etc? How do you feel about parents opening an account for their newborn?

At what age would you let your child get Facebook, Instagram, etc? 12/13. the first time I get locked out, will be their last!
How do you feel about parents opening an account for their newborn? RIDICIOUSLY There was a girl on TK that already had gmail accounts for her unborn child. REALLY?!
I would say teenage on for both, but monitored. I agree with @mana8503 if I get locked out at all they are done!
Open up social media pages for newborns?! Ridiculous. I think the only time that is acceptable is on caringbridge.com.
Wtf about the baby accounts?! I've never heard of that. Crazy!
Facebook/Instagram?--i'm not sure- working in a school i see all the drama it causes and with the changes in technology its hard to say, i would def monitor it
As for parents opening up an account for their newborn?--annoying!!! We have friends who had a baby in early Dec, they made their child an instagram account and so far are up to day # whatever bc i lost count so everyday they share a pic to FB of him doing NOTHING-basically sleeping, sleeping and sleeping!!!!
I've limited taking pics of Lilliana to once a month(her month pics), holidays, or if i take a really cute pic and i want to share and its only bc we have family who we dont see all the time and they can see her growing up other than that I dont think the world wants to see her with smashed peas all over face! Believe me I take plenty of pics all day every day, but i upload them to snapfish and share them with my mom, MIL and sister. No one on FB cares....
Like @frank139@msu.edu said, people can do almost anything to a photo. I don't believe in putting children's photos on social media. I have never posted a picture of my nephew on Facebook and when this baby is born, I won't put pictures of him or her on it either. MIL and SILs will be very upset. I'm going to approach the topic soon with them.
I think it's ridiculous to open a Facebook account or Twitter for a newborn. I think there will be room for them when their time comes to get an account. I have heard of people getting email addresses for their young children so they can get their names. I think that's ridiculous too. Big deal if you have to be janedoe1234 instead of just janedoe.
As for the parents who created accounts for kids that young, I think that's a bit much. When that time comes, I feel like I'd want to limit my audience as to who's seeing pictures of my kid.. it reminded me of a discussion from at work yesterday. My coworker and I got onto the subject of kids and she explained that a facebook friend of hers has posted TONS of pictures to the point where a picture of the inside of a potty chair has shown up on news feed. Ew.
