UGH Venting!!

So on Friday I got in touch with my gyno office, who said they would send the SA script out to me and to have DH call and give consent for the doctor to discuss results with me. Well DH called this morning to give his consent and ask where the script was because we never received it. Well after speaking to the elderly nurse who God help me I am beyond my patience level with today, we found out they never sent the script out because they wanted DH to confirm his consent to have his result discussed with me first! WHY would you not mention that on Friday???? So now my doctor is away until Wednesday and I won't be getting the script until she gets back from vacation.
Which means DH will have to take the test like the day he gets the script because my fertile period starts next Saturday. Way to be inconvenient and NOT clear at all about what is going on! Do people not understand how stressful TTC is? Especially if it's been over a year!?

That's bullshit. They don't have anyone else who could write the script? Or, can your husband go to a urologist directly and ask for the S/A?

That's very frustrating. I'm sorry they didn't more clearly explain the steps for getting the rx.

@islandmonkey8 - DH is already like a scared caged animal in this whole ordeal.. There is no way he would go and call for his own RX on his own. Unfortunately, he just wouldn't do it.

Oh, sorry. I can't believe that your office can't help you. I feel like they should at least have a doctor on call who could give scripts out.

How frustrating! Like PPs, I would think that they would have someone around who could write the script or, if not, that the Dr. would have written it last week and left it waiting to go out if all they needed was his consent to have it sent. =/

This whole SA has been nothing but aggravating for us. Not only does DH not want to do it (but he is obviously going to) it is just becoming more and more frustrating to even get the paperwork started.
I am calling first thing Wednesday morning and making them fax it to us so DH can at least TRY and go Thursday or Friday. I'll just sit by my office fax until it comes through.

First of all, I'm sorry you're frustrated with the office. It sounds like there was a big miscommunication and I'd be angry with them for not being able to write the script until the doctor returns. They seriously don't have someone else that can write it?!

Second, breathe. There's nothing easy about being 3T. You could be embarking on a long and trying process. I hope that it's a short process for you, but you need to be prepared. Both of you. You've mentioned several times that your husband is not exactly on board with moving forward with IF treatments. Last month you said he agreed to an at home test as a compromise. Did he do that test? Sometimes the husband needs a nudge. Sometimes the wife needs the nudge. But it's a nudge, not a push.

It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of the next step. I understand. But cycles don't always go as planned, even when they're medicated. Cycles get canceled. Your body may not respond. Insurance, money, work, or life get in the way. Things won't always go the way you hope. You'll need your husband to be on board to provide you with the support you're going to need.

Again, I'm sorry you're frustrated. I hope they can resolve the situation for you without much more aggravation.

@Looneylife - Thanks, it is hard not to get caught up in all the fuss. DH did do the at home tests and it came back good, that being said he is now nervous about everything else. He has never said anything about future treatments, mainly because we never discussed the what if's and IF treatments. The only thing he was hesitant about was the SA.
I really do just want to get it over with so that we know any and all info about ourselves that we need to know.
