Re: TTC Check In

  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 14 months/14 cycles...

Where are you in your cycle? CD 4

    Any plans for testing? No

Have you done anything different or plan to? Well this month we are "planning" ST every day from CD 10-CD19. It's terrible when you have a "plan" to have ST.
Other than that, Green Tea from CD 6-CD18. I just bought the 90 day FF VIP thing.

Anything good or bad in regards to TTC or life? 14 months, need I say more? Anyway, I posted separately.

Thoughts, questions, concerns? DH is REALLLLLY worried that the fact that he wore a jockstrap from middle school - half of college has affected him. I don't know many statistics on this or the long term affect it would have. I have no soothing words for him.

CBHQ: At one age do you think it is appropriate for your son/daughter to start dating? I am perfectly fine with a harmless boyfriend in middle school, I mean no REAL dates or alone time at that age but it's okay for the title. As for actual dating 16 is the youngest my son or daughter can have a real BF. I started young, I started everything too young, I don't want that for my kid.

QOTD: Do you manage to squeeze in some "me time" ever, if so what do you like to do during that time? I love me some ME time! I usually go to Starbucks get my macchiato, go get a mani/pedi, and read. It's amazing how just 2 hours away from everyone and everything can make such a difference.

  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC?
    13/8

Where are you in your cycle?
    CD 16

    Any plans for testing?
I might pee on a few OPKs

Have you done anything different or plan to?
I unintentionally have taken this cycle off from temping. My thermometer died and I haven't gotten a new battery or thermometer.
I'm starting green tea today. (A bit late I think)

Anything good or bad in regards to TTC or life?
DHs at home sperm check was good.

    Thoughts, questions, concerns?
Nah. I have my annual OBGYN appt on February 6th. I am increasingly getting nervous about having to make a decision on what our next steps will be.

CBHQ: At one age do you think it is appropriate for your son/daughter to start dating?
16? Although I think this would be dependent on maturity.

QOTD: Do you manage to squeeze in some "me time" ever, if so what do you like to do during that time?

I am lucky to have days off during the week while R is working. On my days where I don't have to do shopping or cleaning, I just take it easy. Watch tv, read a book, go for a walk, take a bath. Whatever sounds good at the time.
  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 5/4

Where are you in your cycle? CD12

Any plans for testing? Finally remembered to start OPKs (been meaning to for the last couple cycles and forgot). I started this morning and got a squinter so neg for now. Will likely do once a day for the next week or so until the 2nd line gets a lot darker. It was still the first time I'd seen any sort of 2nd line on any sort test so it still made me smile even though it was neg.

Have you done anything different or plan to? Nope

Anything good or bad in regards to TTC or life? I thought this was supposed to be my easiest semester but it's going to be the hardest. I'm in shell shock after my classes this week.

    Thoughts, questions, concerns? Nope

CBHQ: At one age do you think it is appropriate for your son/daughter to start dating? 16ish for serious dating.

QOTD: Do you manage to squeeze in some "me time" ever, if so what do you like to do during that time? Mon-Fri if I'm not at work or class, it's all "me time" since DH and I work opposite shifts. I generally read, do homework, or watch tv that he doesn't like.

  • Hi!  I am new here and don't really know where to start.

Good Afternoon Ladies!! Any Newbies feel free to join in! The more the merrier!

How many months/cycles have you been TTC?
    14mths/14cycles

Where are you in your cycle?  Day 21

Any plans for testing?  DH had the S/A and that came back normal.  Going back to OB next Wed for a follow-up appt to see what comes next.

Have you done anything different or plan to?  I was taking OPK's, but my OB "doesn't believe in them" so I stopped.  I liked taking them to give me a better handle on things, but at the same time, I think it caused too much pressure for both of us.  It was like a love/hate thing towards them.  Do any of you recommend taking them again?

Anything good or bad in regards to TTC or life?  I had a really hard night last night.  Went to my PCP b/c thought I was getting the flu, but thankfully it came back negative.  Before prescribing me Tami-flu just to be cautious, they had me take a test and it came back negative.....of course.  I feel so defeated.  This isn't fun anymore.

Thoughts, questions, concerns?  So many that I don't know where to start.  How does green tea play into all of this?  How come I didn't know about an at-home s/a test and spent $125 for one?  (not really a questions, more of a vent)

CBHQ: At one age do you think it is appropriate for your son/daughter to start dating? I am ok with 16 or so

QOTD: Do you manage to squeeze in some "me time" ever, if so what do you like to do during that time?  "Me time" is important and I normally read.

@OBX2011 green tea helps with cervical mucous. The at home sperm test ONLY checks for count. Not motility and morphology also. We wanted to start with that before moving on to an actual SA.

ETA- I forgot to say welcome!! And you may want to do a desperate post with an intro. Telling us a little bit about you and your husband. And about your TTC journey!
  • @OBX2011 - welcome to the board! Definitely do an intro post on the board because there are MANY women on here who don't read this post and are very very wise and helpful.
Like @blueeyedblossom said - green tea boosts CM, and the SA test
As for OPK's,  I like them, I feel more confident when I use them. But that is my personal opinion.

Also, I'm right there with you in the over 12 month group. It's very very difficult. I hope your next appt goes well and you get some answers.

  • Thanks!  I will do an intro post in a bit as I just got busy at work.  It's nice to have a place to go and talk to other women about their experiences.  My DH has been very supportive through all of this and even grabbed the turkey baster out of the drawer last night just to get me to laugh, which I did of course.  I was in such a funk after the negative test, that he was desperate to turn my mood around.  Even still, it's a big relief to have people to talk too about the ups and downs of getting pregnant.

P.S.  Is there a cheat sheet with all of these abbreviations?
  • @bruinsbabe33 did a post on abbreviations a while ago, I am on mobile so I can't search for it. Hopefully someone else can help ya. :-)

  • How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 12/8

Where are you in your cycle? CD25

    Any plans for testing? Nope

Have you done anything different or plan to? New twist, femara #2, no ovulation

Anything good or bad in regards to TTC or life? Trying to think about anything not TTC right now is hard. We will hit a year this Monday and with the femara not working this cycle I am having a hard time staying positive. Okay, really having a hard time not being sad all the time. I need my RE to call me and set a new plan in place. Maybe that will help.

Thoughts, questions, concerns? Nothing more that I haven't already said.

CBHQ: At one age do you think it is appropriate for your son/daughter to start dating? Eh, I dunno. Never. I'm going with never.

QOTD: Do you manage to squeeze in some "me time" ever, if so what do you like to do during that time? Read, gym, nails, nothing. Pretty much sums it up!

    Started temping this month

Anything good or bad in regards to TTC or life?
We finally booked our Vegas trip in February so just now need to decide what show we want to go to.

    Thoughts, questions, concerns?

CBHQ: At one age do you think it is appropriate for your son/daughter to start dating? Probably start thinking about letting them at 16 but depends on maturity and being able to handle dating along with life commitments.

QOTD: Do you manage to squeeze in some "me time" ever, if so what do you like to do during that time? My "me time" usually revolves around my horse or if not doing that then listening to my British comedy podcasts, watching Doctor Who, and reading.

Where are you in your cycle? CD21

Any plans for testing? No idea.

Have you done anything different or plan to? EOD around O time. But still not temping so who knows how accurate right now!

Anything good or bad in regards to TTC or life? Nada

    Thoughts, questions, concerns?

CBHQ: At one age do you think it is appropriate for your son/daughter to start dating? I think around 16 as everyone seems to have mentioned. But also depends on maturity.

QOTD: Do you manage to squeeze in some "me time" ever, if so what do you like to do during that time? Pedicure! Love them

If you are in to raunchy I've heard from multiple sources that Absynthe at Ceasars is a fun show or Cirque's Zoomanity.  Otherwise you can't go wrong with any of the other Cirque shows.... Or are you more in to seeing a performer or a comedian?

How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 8 months, 4 AL - currently forced to TTA; starting to TTC again next cycle!

Where are you in your cycle? CD35, 13DPO waiting for AF to show this weekend.

Any plans for testing? I have my monthly HCG draw on Monday

Have you done anything different or plan to? Sex without condoms next cycle!!!

Anything good or bad in regards to TTC or life? Good - DH and I are off to Mexico next week for our 5th anniversary and I'm sooo excited to spend a week alone with him.  It will be like a second honeymoon.  Also, it's our kickoff to TTC again.

Bad- I'm scared of TTC again. Of getting a BFP and not being excited because I'm so nervous.  I'm scared of another loss.  Or another mole.  I want to TTC, but I'm afraid of the unknown.

Thoughts, questions, concerns? I'm sad for all the women on this check-in who have hit the year mark and are not sure what their future holds.  I want to hug each and everyone of you and tell you it will be okay....

CBHQ: At one age do you think it is appropriate for your son/daughter to start dating?

It depends on my child, their maturity, the other child and the nature of the relationship.  I think that after 16 it is pretty impossible to stop a kid who wants to date another teen.  It's part of life and learning about who you are.  As long as they are being safe with regards to risky behaviours like drinking, driving, sex etc, I will respect that I've raised my child to make smart decisions when I'm not around.  If my kid disrespects my trust, things will be re-evaluated for sure.

QOTD: Do you manage to squeeze in some "me time" ever, if so what do you like to do during that time? Daily me time is usually when I workout in the morning before work, and then I usually read or watch TV at night after everything is put away and ready for the next day.  Less frequently I also love to get a starbucks and get my hair or nails done, or wander around and shop in peace.

I think we are considering Penn and Teller at the moment and then going to one of the cheap comedy clubs but not completely sure yet. DH mentioned wanting to maybe go to a Cirque show so we have to actually sit down this weekend and decide. We decided to splurge on a show since we are considering this our belated honeymoon.

Edited to try to make a break in the paragraphs since the quote box didn't like me haha

We saw Penn and teller a couple years ago. It was pretty good. Check in to blue man group. I've seen them twice. I love their show! And cirque is always a good choice! :)

How many months/cycles have you been TTC? 9 months / 9 cycles

Where are you in your cycle? I believe 6/7 dpo

Any plans for testing? Not until my birthday. Which would be 15dpo. We are going skiing the day before and even being a good skier and that newly pregnant, I would be freaked out. Plus SIL, BIL and their SO are going with us, so we cant cancel out last minute or they would know right away. SIL has been on my shit about getting pregnant.

Have you done anything different or plan to? Im going to start temping again if this cycle doesnt work out

Anything good or bad in regards to TTC or life? We had better timing this month than ever before so I have higher hopes this month

Thoughts, questions, concerns? Nah Im good.

CBHQ: At one age do you think it is appropriate for your son/daughter to start dating? I think 13 is appropriate for a school girl/boy friend.  14-15 to actaully "go out" and do things with them.

QOTD: Do you manage to squeeze in some "me time" ever, if so what do you like to do during that time? I have an 11 year old, a husband and a dog that is pretty much a hairy toddler. My "me" time is when I take a shower before bed, but DH still comes in and talks to me while I am in there. Oh I do hae a 40 minute drive  and from work, so I count that too.
