It was them trying to verify my benefits. I about had a heart attack on the price! 840 DOLLARS!!! Oh man this IF stuff is getting real. Yay for crappy insurance and a 1500 dollar deductible...

I'm sorry about the bill. At least you know that you're halfway to your deductible if there is any other testing.
It's definitely a shock when you get that first bill. IF isn't covered by our insurance, and it was a slap in the face when we got that $2,500 bill for my B/W blood draw. Thankfully my Dr was able to re-code it differently and we just had to pay the deductible, but it wasn't easy to see.
Also, when you get the bill, call the office and see if there's a discount for paying it in full. Even with our $1,000 deductible I was able to pay $800 instead because we were paying it in full.

They told me it was due upfront when I got there on Monday. Now I'm just wondering what other bills we are going to get for my bloodwork and DH's SA. Guess I better get my credit card ready for some major swiping.
Wow I am so sorry :-( I always hated getting those bills for IF stuff. My insurance covered testing, but nothing else. And I had a $2500 deductible to meet. Hopefully you won't get too many more surprise bills!

Not sure if this helps, but I have a $3K out of pocket yearly max. Maybe you have something similar? So for some things that weren't fully covered, I hit that pretty quickly. It is still a chunk of change, but at l tried to squeeze in as many tests/procedures/etc. before the end of the year. Sorry, IF really does suck!

I ran in to the same thing when I had my HSG Then they later tried to say I didn't pay, so it was a mess.
Almost a year later I got a refund check for 30 cents. They had overcharged me. (

Do your benefits reset in January, because if so, it's good that you're eating away at your deductible this early. Hopefully the rest of the year is much better on your wallet.

Yes they do. I will say that DH and I made an agreement to wait until January rather than doing this all in November like I had wanted. It would much worse (moneywise) to reset in January after spending that money and have more deductible stuff come up.
That is so shitty.... IF is so obnoxiously expensive. FX that everything is okay though and your insurance is able to help with anything else you need after your deductible is met!
