Where did you stay when you went to NOLA? I need some sunshine and I think it would be fun to go to Mardi Gras. Do you have suggestions for good hotels?

I liked it and would probably stay there again, mainly because of the location. It's on Bourbon Street but just outside of the crazy part of Bourbon. It's close enough to walk to everything but far enough to still get a good nights rest. That was the only time I had been to NOLA, so unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions. Definitely try the restaurants I wrote about though - super yummy food!

There are a ton of great places in the French Quarter! Just depends on how fancy you want to go and how much you want to spend. We just use Kayak or an equivalent and search deals in the French Quarter. We live in BR so we went down to NOLA Saturday an went to the aquarium and a late lunch at Drago's. Drago's is pricey but worth it. Get the chargrilled oysters! There are tons of great local places. And don't leave without getting beignets at Cafe du Monde! Have a blast!
