Does anyone know anything about taxes? I do our taxes every year on turbo tax no problem. This year it is saying we owe!!! This is devastating to us to say the least. We always use our taxes for our summer vk and dont have any money stored to give to the gov't.

We literally make less than we did last year and still owe on school loans and a house. The only difference is I claimed 1 instead of 0, so I was suspecting to get back less but not to owe?! Obviously, we going to take this to a professional but still, im about to have a nervous breakdown!

Anyone!?

Yikes! That's scary!!

I am nowhere near a tax professional. We're lucky enough to have FIL do our taxes. I remember last year we looked at H & I filing together and separately, and also who was the head of the household and got a different result for each. Maybe you could play around with those situations and see if one works better for you.

I agree with @bpphoto785. I use the lady who does the bookkeeping for our office. H is contract labor so if we don't do everything just right we could have to pay. Thank goodness that I have extra taken out of my check which offsets H's and now with Ethan it helps. We also try and claim everything!

ClaimTngDlittle bit. I used to do my taxes, but DH is a financial analyst so he does them now. We have very complicated taxes. Two rental houses and our own. Hi
I'm sure you know claiming 0 gets you more during tax time and claiming one gets you more paycheck to paycheck. That being said last year we owed with me Claiming 0 and Claiming 1. We had to pay taxes on the rentals at tax time.

I am like the last person who knows anything about taxes. All I know is we get ours done professionally. This yr I have no idea how we r filling we lived in to states.... Good luck figuring out taxes! Tax time is stressful...

Same here. Our taxes are a hot ass mess so I have no advice. But I hope it all works out and you don't have to owe!!
