if you....

had dark brown carpet, what color couch would you buy? Keep in mind, you have a kid and are planning on having another one within the next year or so. Andddd go.

Brownie points if you specify a material!

Re: if you....

  • Anything leather!
How dark are we talkin? I love my leathe couch. With my dog, sir sheds a lot, the hair jut dusts right off, and anything else just wipes off with a little water. As for colour, I'd probably stick to something darker... Just cause it hides stuff better haha

  • i love espresso. im not certain on material however.

is it an area carpet or a whole room? if it was a whole room id go for more of a chocolate color an area rug more esspresso
  • See I love espresso too and that's originally what I wanted but the carpet is espresso. The people we're buying the house from just put the carpets in so replacing them isn't really an option. Hmm.. what a first world problem this is ... ;)

  • I personally hate leather furniture, so I would go with a synthetic fiber. They can be pretty easy to clean and stand up to a beating, at least from a 4 legged child. For color I would go with a medium shade of brown or maybe a nice green or blue? That way it's lighter than your carpet, but will still hide some dirt.

I agree with this I mean we have leather recliners and they get so hot plus while it's easy to clean they hold actual dust and stuff quite easy. And they crack after a while. We have brown floors with a grey couch and it looks ok plus the grey hides dirt. I agree with going like brown or even blue or green look at microfiber material I hear that is fairly easy to clean.
  • What about a "darker tan" or a color? Our floors are darker and we have blue couches that work well in the space and are dark enough to hide messes
  • My mom has dark brown carpet in her living room and just bought a mocha colored couch that she added some bright colored pillows to for a pop of color. With little ones running around, I would definitely stick with a darker color and leather since it's durable.
