WIAR: Dark Witch by Nora Roberts (no sp)

There are parts I appreciate, but as a whole, I'm not loving it.

I enjoy camaraderie of the characters being a group of friends.

But I dislike the main character so much. She comes across as desperate for love and affection, and I just can't get past it. Also, the fact that everything she thinks or feels comes right out of her mouth is beyond irritating to me. She's too young to be a grown woman.

I think I'll like the other books more because I like the other friends better.

  • I loved this but I do totally get where you're coming from. I think the next books will be better because I like those characters better.

  • I felt like everything came way too easily to Iona magically.  That's what bothered me most.  Oh, you want to light a fire?  Try it twice and you can do it.  I guess I prefer my romance heroines to struggle with something and I don't feel like she really did.

I felt the same way with Emma from Bed of Roses.  But then I went back and listened to her book and got a bit of the angst but it wasn't on the same level as the other three books.
