  Our cats aren't huge into toys anymore. But they usually like anything with catnip in it. There are some toys that have separate catnip that you actually place in the toy and they go nuts with those. The mice that run around they used to love (you sit the, on floor and roll the, back and them let go). You need a hard surface for those.   I've had many cats over the years. The one thing that they all loved was the stick with the long "tail" on it that we would wave around. As kittens they loved to jump up and catch the tail.
  
  Gatsby also loved, loved, loved laser pointers. He'd follow that dot for hours.
  
  They never liked the little mice, balls, or catnip toys.

  Cats are weird with toys...they're so finicky.  What one loves, the next hates.  Mine really like cat treats, so I'd include those.  They do get a little crazy for cat nip stuff, so I'd do one of those.  They like the small stuffed mouse things better than the balls, those they never really played with.   They love string the most.   In summary, it's a cat so you never know what it may like.  HA!

  Dogs are similar in their toy snobbery. Well, unless the other dog has it then it is the greatest thing ever.
