pressure cooking

We made honey garlic chicken in the pressure cooker tonight. It took 10 minutes total to.cook the chicken breasts. They were so good!! I was reading off some of the other recipes to DH from my cookbook.and he is already picking ones for the next couple weeks.

My grandparents have one and they use it to cook roasts instead of the crock pot. Theirs is really old and loud. I'm always afraid it's going to explode lol.

Maybe that will be my next splurge purchase when I'm bored. I would love to not have to bake things for hours.

Stupid question but what is the difference between a pressure cookers and a crockpot?

Pressure cookers have a seal that locks in steam and cooks food at about 250 degrees. You can cook a whole meal in the pressure cooker in a hour or so vs all day in the crock pot. But a crock pot can be on all day and unattended. There is a recipe in my cookbook where you make mashed potatoes in the pressure cooker. The potatoes cook in 6 minutes. We'll see about that
