AW: Laundry/Mudroom

mrshall1027 · January 2014

Those of you that I'm friends with on FB may have already seen this, but I'm so excited about this that I just want to share everywhere!!

After a lot of hard work and money, we FINALLY finished our laundry room/mudroom tonight! Well... almost. I need to make a cushion for the bench. The before picture actually makes it look nicer than it was. The laminate flooring was coming up and stained, the doors and trim were dingy and yellow, and there was one small shelve for storage above the washer and dryer connections.

I'm so beyond happy! The part I think I love the most is the mudroom side because one of the tall cabinets provides storage for the vacuum, mops, and broom and the other tall cabinet houses the kitty litter. We installed a cat door on the side of the cabinet under the bench so that it's not directly visible. Yay for no more kitty litter on the floor!!

Thanks everyone!! We put a lot of sweat and tears, and a little blood, into this project. It took longer than expected, but it was definitely worth it. We did everything in this room and I am super proud of that. I am so lucky because H and I work really well together and projects like this are a great fun, bonding time for us. I wish we could just flip houses for a living!

We got it from Lowes. It was a really lucky find because we didn't see anything we liked in our budget and I randomly saw one sheet of it put with some other style. We really liked it and had to go on a hunt around the store for the rest. They had all of it up at the front of the store on display. We paid $4.99 per sheet, but it's on sale right now for $2.99 until 2/14!

I love it!! I saw it on FB too, but it looks wonderful. It's definitely, without a doubt Pinterest worthy!! Do you know what fabric you'll use for the bench cushion? And how did your curtains turn out? Did you get them finished?

magpie87 · January 2014

Beautiful! I love how it turned out!

I love it! I am also uber jealous of your red washer/dryer! We have plans to redo our laundry room too, hope it turns out even half as nice as yours!
