Our garage floor was poured in 1993 and it has some settled areas in it. During the winters here in MN, the snow, slush, and eventual water from the melt, gets onto the garage floor and pools in some places...around an inch deep. Plus, we get road salt on the concrete too. It's a mess. Our garage does not have a drain and I am concerned that the previous owners probably did not protect the floor and that if we don't, we will have a lot of cracking and other problems with the water in future years.
Do you have a garage floor mat that you place under your cars to collect water, salt, and dirt?
I have seen several types on Amazon. All are large "rugs" that are supposed to absorb the water and dirt. Do you have these? Do you like? Or, does anyone know of a large mat for under the cars that has lips on the 3 sides (open on the 4th so you can drive onto it) so that all the water and mess collects in the mat?
We have mats inside the back door that are plastic and have lips...like trays. When the boots come off, and are set on the trays, the trays collect all the water and yuck until we wash them off. I want something like this for my garage floor!
Re: Not MM...Garage Floor Mat...to contain water and dirt...
Over the summer considering using a power washer & washing the floor really good. Fill in any cracks and lows spots. Then afterwards re-seal it. This will help prevent any further damage to the floor. Until then, do like PP and get some cardboard boxes.
