Manic Monday!

How is everyone? Anyone have the day off?

Last week I went to two very long classes ( per request of my Manager) and am now a trainer! I was told they will most likely be doing away with the lead position. Trainers will be the new leads.

We also rescued our second cat. Kali (our first) is adjusting better then we thought. Our second fur baby is Homeboy (Homer or Homie). He's about 1 1/2 and the exact opposite of Kali in many ways. But they both love sitting on Hs lap so they take turns. They both prefer the floor as a posed to heights (good for me because less chances of things on shelves getting knocked over). He's so inquisitive as he's been outside his entire life (that we know of). He certainly doesn't miss it outside.

Re: Manic Monday!

  • I'm off today because I worked Saturday. We are transitioning to a new work flow in our department so I'll be learning some new things and probably doing some video editing which could be cool.

No plans for the day, just some maintenance on the card and hang out with the kiddo.

Oh! So MIL lost one of her clients because they moved away and went out and got a real, legit job which she starts in February. SIL and I are hopeful this will give her a life of her own for a change. Fingers crossed.
  • Aw! Yay for a new fur baby!

My weekend was good... visited with a friend in from OOT, had girl's night and saw 12 Years a Slave. Plus cleaning, laundry, etc.

Is it me or did Hollywood editors/directors forget that movies don't HAVE to be 2+ hours? It seems that as longer movies are becoming more commonplace, movies are becoming too long. So many movies I've seen lately, including many Oscar nominated flicks, are just too long IMO. 12 Years, American Hustle... they're good movies with great acting, etc. but just too long. It's like Hollywood forgot that not every scene has to make it into the movie. There are scenes in both of those that I would have just cut out for time and lack of moving the story forward.

  • We didn't do too much.  Saturday, I dropped my phone in water, and it stopped working.  I ordered a new phone on amazon last night, and it should be here today!

I went to a basketball game Saturday, which was a blast.  We won in OT!  Sunday, both DH and I worked.  I picked up around the house some.  Pretty laid back weekend.

I'm working today...didn't get to have the day off! :(

  • Low-key weekend over here as well. We saw "Her," and I loved it. Had sushi and drinks with a couple who is expecting a baby in May. Jealous. Sunday we went to brunch and I cleaned. H left today for the start of an 8-week traveling session. Home on weekends, but still, boo.

  • Hi. We had a low-key weekend. My mom is here visiting. The plumber came on Saturday and the news is pretty crappy. We may have to rip out BOTH bathrooms because they are back to back. The hallway shower access is behind the master vanity. The master shower access is behind the hallway vanity. Without ripping everything out, the plumber is guessing we have a broken drain pipe under our shower (water is leaking out from under the tub). Ugh.

I'll have remodeled bathrooms earlier than I thought though.
  • athlete010688 - that sucks! Did you try putting the phone in rice? Apparently if you put it in a bowl of rice overnight it will dry out the phone. I've heard it works wonders.
  • ZeroOrchestra - What does your MIL do?

Yeah, I tried that.  It didn't work :(  I may not have waited long enough - i did waiate 24 hours.  But I didn't put it in rice right away.  I thought I had dried it all.  Whoops!

Oh that stinks. Especially if you like your phone. Are you getting the same phone or a different one?

I had a phone I hated years ago. I kept hoping it would break so I could get a new one, I hated it that much. I was at the pool with my roommate and had my phone on the towel. My roommate picked up the towel and the phone fell to the bottom of the pool. I let it dry out (didn't know about rice yet) for a couple of hours. And it worked like nothing had ever happened! I was disappointed.

  • @erollis - I got a different phone.  The phone I had was okay, not great.  It was an LG.  I got the Samsung S Blaze.  So far, I really like this phone.
