Has anyone else had this between cycles? Like, not light "normal" spotting, but heavy spotting. As in, if I didn't know better, I'd think it was a light AF..
I've ovulated on my own (WHAT?!) for the past 2 cycles before this one. I'm on CD84 right now with no sign of O. I've had a couples days now with heavy spotting. Once, I bled through everything and just knew AF was coming. It does this for one big "gush" (sorry..gross) and then seems to go away. No streaking or anything. It's so weird. I've had lots of random spotting over the years, but never anything like this. I have a 'script for Provera that I was going to start tonight or tomorrow morning, but I hesitate with the heavy spotting...
Then again, my temps do not indicate ANY hope of O so maybe I should just start the Provera and hope for the best. This is just weird. Sorry, that got long.. I'm really just wondering if anyone else has had heavy spotting like this. I'm not sure if I should go to the RE just to have things checked or just start Provera and then go to her if things keep acting weird.. Thoughts?

That does help! It's nice to know at least someone else has had the heavy spotting before! It's so weird.. I've had SUPER long "cycles" before (like 6 months) and never had it spot like this. I'd swear I have some cramping too. Just on those few days with the heavy spotting. Blarg. Maybe I'll just start the Provera tonight and go for it.

Do you ever get AF on your own with anovulatory cycles, or are they always brought on by Provera?
I ask this because I've gotten AF a couple of times without Oing, and my Dr told me to consider it CD1 if it lasts for more than 2 days and goes through a pantyliner.

Lucky - I took a test yesterday. I'll take one again tomorrow morning. 99.999999% positive I'm not pregnant though, based on temps. That's the ONLY reason I'm tempted to call the RE and just have them do an u/s and bloodwork, even though I'm fairly positive there was no O so no hope of pregnancy.
Brij - with exception to the last 2 cycles before this one, I haven't gotten AF on my own in over 5 years. AF has always been brought on by either progesterone shots (until I developed an allergy to them), Provera, or after the 2 medicated cycles where I ovulated. I went through a panty liner (after I went through undergarments and jeans.. ugh) on the last spotting incident, but not since then and it only lasted that one "gush" or whatever, so not like a day or two..
Sorry for dumb questions.. I'm not used to bleeding my own blood all on my own.

That's really weird it only happened that one time. I would definitely mark it on your chart, and wait a few more days of temping to make sure your temp doesn't spike. Then start Provera.
If anything, call and talk to the nurse and ask if it's something you should be concerned about before starting Provera.
Sorry it decided to come without warning.
