Happy Saturday!

What's on everyone's agenda?  I need to clean the house and get some laundry done.  I will probably do none of that. :)

    Good morning :)

Today I plan to do laundry, vacuum, clean out/organize the kitchen cabinets and possibly go to the gym.  We'll see how much of it I actually do.  I'm waiting for Dh to wake up to see if he'll want to go to the gym with me, if he says ok, then that'll be the first thing we do before he has time to change his mind.

  • I am planning to go to the gym too. I've been doing the Couch to 5K again.  I'm determined to actually finish it this time.  I'll be finishing Week 2 today. Which is about the point where I give up because I decide I can't run three minutes at a time.

  • Good morning!

I'm thinking about making a second cup of coffee.  I also need to sweep, clean up the kitchen and clean the powder room.

I have a few errands to run this afternoon and then I'm coming home to a box of Kraft Dinner for dinner. DH is out camping and hates KD.  He's weird, I know.

I've known a few people to try the Couch to 5K and after Week 2 is always when they seem to stop it as well.  Have you tried just running slowly, like just a slow jog?  I find that I can run much longer if I just slow myself down a bit.

  • @Aimothy, you can make it!! I did C25K a couple of times. I did find that sometimes I needed to slow myself down a little once the run times got longer, but I kept pushing and I made it through. Let me add that I seriously had like no endurance/running ability before doing it the first time. I was so thrilled with myself after completing it and realizing I actually could run.

My morning has been laaaaazy so far. DH left for work around 8, and I slept a while longer. I made myself some chai tea when I got up, and now I'm Nesting and watching Order of the Phoenix (ABC Family has a HP weekend!). I need to get a few loads of laundry done at the very least today. That's all I've got on my agenda!

  • @Aimothy - I second the slowing yourself down for your run times.  I started with the C25K program and have done 3 half marathons now and countless 5Ks.  You can do it!!  Before I started, I could barely walk a mile, let alone run a 5K.

As for our plans, H will sleep until at least 2-3pm since he worked last night.  I'm cuddled up watching it snow (we're slated for 3-6" and it appears to be headed that way) and working some OT from home.  Pretty lazy day here.

Tomorrow is the exciting day of possibly putting in an offer on THE house. :)
  • I am going as slow as "running" can allow me to.  It is still a mind game.   I'll never do a half/full marathon. That's just crazy talk. :)

  • It sounds like you ladies need to teach me how to run. I'm definitely in the "runners are crazy" camp, and I think the longest I've run in the last decade was about 5 minutes. And that just about killed me.

DH and I are being super lazy today. I do hope to work out for a bit this afternoon, though, and I might get some work done for school. He has also suggested we go out and get some Starbucks since it's been so freaking cold here lately. So we'll probably do that later.

There's usually an option where you can change it from minutes to KM. Then it will at least tell you to run for so many meters, then walk for meters. That may help a little more with the mindset.

This morning consisted of washing our bedding and doing my 8 mile training run.  Then H and I ripped out carpet at the new city building, and now I'm lounging on the couch watching Harry Potter on ABC.  There's probably a nap in my future.
