Happy Friday Everyone!

TGIF girls!

So what is everyone doing this weekend besides trying to stay warm?

Re: Happy Friday Everyone!

  • TGIF, indeed!!!

Tonight: I'm doing that volunteer event at Jake's school, then I might take him somewhere after that for some one-on-one time since Brian can pick up Liam tonight.  maybe bowling?  not sure.

Saturday: our carpets are getting steam cleaned in the morning, woohoo!! :)  other than that, we're just doing some other household organizing.  we're having guests next weekend and our guestroom looks like a bomb made of christmas decorations, boxes, and old toys went off.  we may go over to a friend's house that night, but I guess that will depend on the weather.

Sunday: checking out another church, no plans the rest of the day (at least until later that night, when I'll watch Catherine & Sean's wedding!)

  • I am so over this weather.  OVER IT.   I think I might move in with Clare at this point, hope she doesn't mind!   ;)

We don't really have any plans this weekend.  I will go to my WW meeting and maybe if it's not snowing too much try the hip hop class at my gym, but that's it.   We have some busy weekends coming up for most of Feb, so I'm just going to chill and enjoy doing nothing.
  • DH is playing poker with the guys tonight so I am going out for Indian food with the girls (since he hates Indian food).

Tomorrow we are having friends over for a game night.  We'll probably play charades or something.  Or just drink and BS :P

Has anyone played Cards Against Humanity?  I haven't but I know it is the "hot" game right now and wonder if I should get it.

  • We have a glorious weekend of hardly anything planned!

    Tonight - grocery shopping
Tomorrow - I have plans to go to my dad's, but if the weather's bad we'll stay home.
    Sunday - nothing at all!

Yes, I got it for dh for Christmas. It's like the adult inappropriate and dirty version of apples to apples. I would only suggest it if you guys are ok with that! There are definitely some people who would find it offensive/embarrassing.

I have not played, but hear it is hilarious and very inappropriate... in a good way.

I think I am headed to a hot yoga class tomorrow to help ignore how cold it is.  EJ has dance class and we need to return library books.  I should get myself a book too. It has been too long since I read anything. Suggestions are welcome for something that I am likely to actually find in the library are welcome :)  Sunday we are all going to an Animal Friends fundraiser at the bowling alley. Usually a good time.
  • Tonight we don't have any plans other than the usual take out and DVR catch up.

Saturday we are heading out to get some ideas on what we want to do with our kitchen.  We have a birthday party in the afternoon.  Not sure what we're doing in the evening.

Sunday we are doing something as a family for Garrett's birthday, but I'm not sure what yet!

Monday is Garrett's birthday (He's THREE!  How did that happen?) and I have the day off, so we have plans to do something with friends.

@csuave - I have heard of Cards Against Humanity and tried to get it for DH for Christmas but it was sold out everywhere (unless I wanted to buy it for $150).  They have a free download online that you can take to be printed, but I was too lazy for that.

  • @Meghan&Rich I have heard that IKEA is a great place to do a really nice kitchen for less.  And if you are out that way the Tile store is fun to look around and may give you some ideas.
  • The kids are leaving and dh and I are having a date night <:-P !

And I agree, this weather has got to go.  The kids are starting to climb the walls.  And it sounds weird saying, "it's too cold to play outside.  When it warms up we can play in the snow."

  • Card Against Humanity should not be played with anyone who is easily offended. It is so much fun but really inappropriate. If easily offended, stick to Apples to Apples. My family is wildly inappropriate and we love it.

As for this weekend, my sister is gracing us with her with her presence. She is coming to pick up her new car. So I will probably go to my parents' house tomorrow because I think they are leaving Sunday morning.

Sunday-clean, grocery store, put away our Christmas stuff. I have been putting this off since I have to go into our crawl spaces and the other night we thought we heard something in there (they are in front of our bedrooms)

I'd give that job to DH!  Ain't nobody got time to be in the crawl space with critters!  EEK!

If there's one thing I do well, it's innapropriate.

  • My college BFF is supposed to drive up for the weekend, so we'll be studying the travel forecast tonight and tomorrow morning.

I need to get the guest room straightened and start putting away Christmas tonight. Hope to finish that process this weekend, one way or another.

  • We were going to go to roller derby, but we decided it'll be too cold to take LO, so we'll probably hide out in the house all weekend. Boo on this cold! I'm so over it.

We actually aren't big fans of Cards Against Humanity, and we're not easily offended. Part of the fun of Apples is trying to make something dirty/funny/offensive out of something that's not, and there's just not much cleverness to CAH. But I will say that some of the cards are hilarious! Sometimes we use the black CAH cards with the red Apples cards, that's a fun game ;-)

Yes! It's hilarious and offensive! They don't sell it any where I could find (seems like there was a lawsuit for defamation based on a few of the cards) but it's all in a PDF on the Internet so I took it to Staples and printed them and cut them out.

  • We made the CAH game at Staples and had a good time playing it last night.  Perfect for a snowy night!
