I'll be going back to work in March.

ANOTHER "Snow Day" tomorrow.

Fuck this cold weather.

I. WANT. SPRING.

Re: I'll be going back to work in March.

  • Last week our governor signed a law allowing schools to add hours to the day rather than days to the year to make up missed days due to so many snow days. It's insane.

  • @mrsvedo, what state are you in?

We could have had school today I think...although it was bad during the morning commute hours. I'm predicting another snow day tomorrow due to wind chills to -35 and temps below zero almost all day.

  • I'll gladly stay home and you can go to work for me :)

I'd probably be irritated too with that many days off if I was a teacher though. Will y'all just have to play some serious catch up with the kids? Enjoy your day off. Again. :)

Michigan. Our schools were pretty much all closed today and will be tomorrow too. My parents are both teachers and haven't worked a 5 day week since the beginning of December.

  • We are likely going to have to make up some of the days. My district is figuring out what to do, because this is definitely not the norm. We normally get 2 Snow Days in a school year.  Tomorrow makes #5.

  • Wow @mrsvedo. Today was only our third snow day so not too bad yet. I'm in Pennsylvania. I just know we still have a long way to go until winter is over! Ugh! Spring needs to start early!

I live in Ohio and I don't think any school here has had a full week of school since the week before Christmas.

We had to do this in Fairfax County, VA way back in the day (I think it was 1995) because we missed so much school from snow.  I'd much rather have that then go to school until July 4th.

My sister and BIL in AL have today off from work and it was announced yesterday that schools would be closed today AND tomorrow based entirely on the forecast of freezing rain/1-3" of snow. I laughed so hard. I get closing school/having a snow day from work today, but 2 days out based purely on the forecast?? HA! That would never happen up here.

We have nothing here. I told DH that we should meet up for lunch. Our day off is all for nothing.
