Would I consider this my period? xo

First off, ladies I would like to thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers. It really means a lot to me. xoxo Second off, so when would I start taking the OPKs again? I mean, would I consider this as my period then, and take them later this week/weekend? Or should I wait a month? This was a real shocker and I don't know what to do/expect... I stopped bleeding, so I'm not sure of what I should actually do here. Thanks again girls. xoxo

Re: Would I consider this my period? xo

  • *Hugs*

Yes, you would consider the day of bleeding/passing it as CD1.

Not sure what your doctor said or if he/she said anything, but a lot of them want you to wait a cycle before trying again.

  • Thanks brij. xo She said if I was up to it then go for it. I think waiting would just make it harder. I am trying to just tell myself my body just wasn't ready right now. I am NOT taking any early pregnancy tests though, ever! Also, if you know, I have been I getting these horrible headaches. They come and go, is that normal? The one Saturday I was unable to do anything, and they keep coming, not as bad, thank goodness, but horrible.

  • Ditto Brij; the bleeding would count as CD1.

If you want to start trying again right away, then yes, start using OPKs a few days before you would expect to O.

I'm sorry about your headaches. They might well be from your hormones being wacky, or you could just be having a few bad days. No real answer for you there. Just take it easy and alternate Tylenol and Advil if you'd like to help take the edge off.

This isn't the place I would come to with questions regarding headaches or anything else health related. It's more than alright to ask people if they've had similar experiences, but I'd definitely suggest speaking with your doctor about A LOT of things rather than asking the women here what's normal and what's not/when to worry and when not to worry.

I hope that didn't come across as preachy. I really hate when the women here treat people like they aren't adults with common sense. I just really question the judgement of many of these people and hope you find answers to health-related questions from a more reliable source.
  • I have no advice.  I'm really sorry Cloudy!

  • Ditto other ladies, that the bleeding = CD1 and if your doctor gave you the go ahead then you're good to go.
However your cycle may be wonky this time around so try not to get frustrated if you don't O when you usually do.

The headaches may be hormonal but if they are that bad I'd let your doctor know.

  • I'm sorry you're having a hard time with all of this. It could just be from stress from the m/c, if you are concerned at all just give your doctor a call. If the headaches keep up and your normal treatment for them isn't working, maybe just give your doctor a call and see what they say.

  • @mh1006 that is exactly why I ask on HERE. People on here have had experiences and I like to hear regular peoples' views over what some doctors can tell me sometimes. People may have their own ways of coping or own remedies. Thanks everyone else. If my headaches get worse or don't go away I will definitely call my dr and ask. xo

Is it not common sense not to take advice from internet strangers as medical advice? While what you are saying is true (because it's common sense), the bolded makes it sound like you are the one treating others as if they have no common sense.

  • Given some of the things I've seen on here lately, and an alarming/TMI little private message that I got from the OP, I think my response was appropriate.
  • I am so sorry for your loss, Cloudy. It's a good thing PPs have the right answers, because I don't.

  • I would talk to your doctor about when to try again. My dr said it was okay to TTC again immediately after such an early loss, but yours might have a different opinion.

Also, I always seemed to come down with a nasty cold or something after my losses. Could be stress, hormones, who knows. Obviously call your doc if you are concerned.

  • I get hormonal stomachaches so I would think headaches could be normal too. But I do agree with MH-- that's something I'd ask the doctor.

Thinking of you. I know this sucks.
