Thanks to Make-A-Wish, we are headed to Disney in April! !We will be there from a Fri-Thurs. We were there 2 years ago, but didn't make it to Downtown Disney or Epcot.
We are arriving in Orlando at 2:30. Once we get our rental car, we will be driving to the resort (not on Disney property). My plan is to go to Downtown Disney that evening and to have dinner at the T-Rex cafe. Do you think that I need to make a reservation? Also, what else is there to do?
We are heading to Epcot the second day, what are some of the things that we should absolutely do there?
This year we plan to do Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom in one day, does that seem doable?
They also give us ticket to Universal/Islands of Adventure and Sea World, so in order to get it all in, we have to visit a different park/parks everyday.
Thanks all!
Re: Disney talk anyone?
Yay! I volunteer for MAW and send familiies to DIsney all the time and they all rave about the experience! You will love Give Kids the World! I would definitely make a reservation for dinner b/c those places book up or have an hour wait. Especially in April. Downtown Disney has great shops, restaurants & some outdoor shows. There is a cinema ( i think) plus cirque de soleil and another place for kids (can't recall what it is, may not be great for little ones).
I haven't been to Epcot so can't help there but have fun!
How time flies! Caileigh (9), Keira (6) & Eamon (3)
That's wonderful Leiann!! I hope the boys have a great time there!
We're going to Disney in 26 days, at the end of February. Emmy ate at the T-Rex cafe and I'm pretty sure she did reservations there.
This wil be my first trip to Disney since 1996, and my first trip with the kids, so I can't really comment about how do-able things are and what is must see, esp since my daughter is so princesss-driven and character meet & greets are going to be a big focus of our trip. There are lots of experts on here though, and I"m sure you'll be in good hands!
We were there in October, and had reservations at the T-rex cafe, but cancelled them in favor of going to Epcot again. If you know that's where you want to go, definitely make reservations. Even if they aren't "needed" it is good to just have piece of mind. I think there is also a lego place in downtown Disney.
My DD (she was 4.5) loved Epcot. She was really interested in all of the countries (and the souvenirs in all of the shops. The Finding Nemo Ride and Turtle Talk with Crush were great for kids, as is Figment of Imagination (something like that). And surprisingly she was fascinated by the stuff in "the land" complex...especially the boat ride through their fruit/vegetable garden.
Epcot was also the easiest place for us to meet characters (besides character dinners) They have a character spot where you wait in line once and then see a few characters...we saw Mickey, Minnie and Goofy.
we only did a morning at Epcot, but we loved Soarin' and Turtle Talk with Crush.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

I think you can definitely do animal kingdom and hollywood in one day. You can hit the highlights of AK in the morning and spend the rest of the day at Hollywood. It would be great if you could get your fastpasses for HS for the afternoon, because if you get to AK early you can usually avoid major lines.
We went to Sea World our last trip and both boys loved it. They have a great kiddie ride section, and the boys loved the little aquarium in the floor of one of the exhibits. They also have two fun coasters for adults that you and DH may like.
Universal didn't thrill my kids, but I expect they'll love it there in a few years, when they're tall enough for all the big rides.
