Wtf. (maybe tmi)

Here I am 39 weeks- I had an appt this morning to check cervix/baby's position. I was going to ask to be induced Friday if cervix looks good because I'm miserable. Well Dr. said my cervix looks good, but then he noticed something ABOVE my genitals (not on it). He said it looks like herpes. I was like your fucking joking, it's an ingrown hair from shaving, nothing came back on my blood test. He said it wouldn't show up on the b/w, and we really don't know for sure what it is. He wrote me an rx anyway to try to get rid of this, said if i go into labor and still have this spot, I'll need a c section which i want to avoid so badly. I have a follow up appt Monday if i don't go into labor. I'm pretty upset. Anyone experience something like this? Some T&Ps that this goes right away is greatly appreciated.

Yes m'am, and i believe he did a swab (i couldn't see what he was doing at that end)- A nurse said before i left that I'll be receiving results at next appt.

I went to a dr appt a few years ago because of a couple of spots that she thought was herpes (I don't know how that would've been possible at the time!), but the test ended up coming back negative. They still never knew what it was. My point is though, that even though it looks like that, it may not be that at all.

Lots of T&Ps it's NBD!!

My sister's doc, years ago, scared the crap out of her telling her some weird areas on the outside area looked like (some sort of STD, I can't remember what at this point). I think it turned out to be irritation from some underwear or something stupid like that and not worth getting my sister all worked up over.

Hopefully yours is the same thing and just a nasty ingrown hair. Try exfoliating down there to see if you can clear it up!

I hope you are able to avoid the c/s and the induction and that the baby comes on thier own an you can have a vaginal birth :-) hopefully this is nothing.

Herpes and cold sores you want no where near a newborn. It can cause meningitis and be deadly for the baby. T and P's that your doc is just being overly cautious.

i hope he is too, but I am glad I have medication to try to nip this is the butt- whatever it may be. Whatever it takes to make sure she'll be healthy.

Ugh. That sucks. I've had some pretty nasty ingrown hairs down there too from shavin and waxing so I hope that's all it is! That would stink if you have to have a c/s when you don't want to.
