busy season with accountant spouse
Anyone else have a SO dealing with busy season?
It's not our first one together but it's always a crappy time of year. Right now G's at the stage where he's lonely so he wants me around but then I'm a distraction and also clearly not neck deep in work 9pm on a saturday so he wants me gone too. Sigh
What are your busy season strategies?
Re: busy season with accountant spouse
Hi Ladies
I wanted to join into the convo - I am actually the one who has to endure busy season
and meanwhile my H is working his 40 hrs 9-5 job! From a perspective of a workaholic - we get super stressed, super guilty that we cant spend time having fun adn super resentful when we end up working and you end up having fun ha! so its kinda a very sucky and awful time - plus is winter blues on top of that!
My fave recommendation is to have a plan to do a mini trip right after the busy season - even if its a weekend at a bed & breakfast or a week away on the beach it makes such a difference to have something wonderful and fun and re-connecting to look forward for! My H & I always make an effort to go away the first free weekend after the craziness.
Also it helps to get sweet messages / notes / texts just even saying "hey i know you're having a stressful day but im thinking of you" always makes my day
And lastly - i know im writing this from a woman's perspective - but i love it when my H really makes an effort around the house since im always at work - i know you ladies are prob the primary house managers
but i wanted to write it from my perspective as well.
Good luck & let me know if there is any other questions / hints / advice i can help with.
