QOTD 1/29

So I have been feeling like I don't drink enough water. I am sure that there are others out there that feel the same way.

Do you think you drink enough water? If you do drink enough, what's your secret?

Re: QOTD 1/29

  • I strive to drink 64 oz.  I have a 32 oz water bottle that I put lemon and mint in.  It makes it taste better to me.  Sometimes I add strawberries, or peaches... raspberries.  I drink half (16oz) and refil it so I still have some yummy flavorings, drink half (16 oz), refill, drink the rest (32 oz).  I also got used to favored selzter water I sometimes drink with dinner.

  • I have a cup at my desk, that I refill as needed.  I don't add ice, because I drink more if it's not super cold.
  • I drink a lot of water, but still probably not enough, no.

  • I drink waaaay more than most people I know. I average about 120 ounces a day. I have a 32 ounce Nalgene bottle that I keep on my desk. I fill it first thing in the morning when I get there and whenever I have a second or think about it, I take a drink. I have a coworker who set a reminder on her Outlook calendar to refill her water bottle every two hours. She felt like it helped her remember to keep emptying it.

Oh, and fun fact for the pregnant ladies, our childbirth instructor told us that pregnant women should be drinking about half of their body weight in water/liquids a day. But, things like whole fruit juice, milk and herbal tea also count toward that goal

  • I drink a ton of water, at least 3 liters a day.  I just feel better that way, my skin looks better, etc.  Now I'm so used to it that if I don't drink that much, I feel super thirsty!
    image
  • I drink probably 2.5 to 3 liters a day. I have my 32 oz Nalgene bottle that I bring to work filled up and it's usually gone by lunch. I fill it back up and finish it by the end of the work day. Then I just drink a few glasses at home (depending on if I supplement with wine! Ha).

I like the outlook reminder idea. That is a Great tip if one has trouble drinking a lot

  • I drink a lot of water but i dont really have a secret except thats all that i drink. I hate soda and am not a big juice person so my daily intake is all water! I do have a water bottle that i just keep refilling over and over again, sometimes ill use the crystal light flavor packets if i want to jazz it up!

Pregnant ladies- def drink your water, i drank a lot of water while pregnant but i guess not enough bc i felt like i was in the bathroom enough as it is and ended up in the ER with kidney stones!

  • I try to drink as much as possible. When I was in the lab, I'd bring a huge water bottle every day and refill it (until our lab tech got rid of our water cooler :( ). Now that I'm writing from home, I always have a water glass next to me. Plus, it gives me an excuse to stop working for a few minutes to get up and refill it.

  • I don't drink anywhere near enough and I know it :( I love water, but I don't like it unless it's cold!! I usually drink a bottle or two a day. As soon as I read this I had H bring me a bottle :)

I'm trying to get away from sodas and drink more water, milk, and juice. If I can get off of sodas completely, I usually drink tons of water, but I pee like a mofo!!

  • @xxjen015 DH and I used to be total diet soda addicts! I cut back first and he eventually followed. Substituting flavored seltzer was a big help in cutting out the soda. We both realized that we like the carbonation more than the actual soda itself. Now, he'll only have soda if we're out at Panera and I only drink it when I absolutely need some caffeine and there's no decent coffee in sight (usually less than once a month).

  • I aim for at least 80-100oz a day. I keep a 20oz glass bottle that I refill throughout the day at work. At home I just try to drink water as often as I remember.

  • @Nic12184 I know my addiction is the bubbles! Unless it's Dr. Pepper...that one is the soda itself! haha. And I don't drink it diet, so we never buy it as a 12 pack, I only allow myself one a month usually and have to buy it when I'm going to drink it. I've been working lately on scaling back to one a day and I've been doing fairly well lately. The couple of times I've quit before I stopped drinking it cold turkey. I quit for 6 months, then 9 months...Maybe I'll try again soon!

  • I used to drink a lot, but I haven't been drinking as much as I need to lately.  I have a 24oz water bottle that I fill up and I'll drink at least one of those a day, but I'd like to drink between 2 and 3.

  • I drink a lot during the week when I'm at work, but am really bad about staying hydrated on my days off.  At work, I keep my water filled and lemon or lime juice on hand.  As long as I have a slash of citrus in it, I gulp it down.  It's just harder on the weekends I guess since I'm not sitting still next to it.

  • I definitely do not drink enough! I am making a big effort now because I know how important it is being pregnant and not to get dehydrated. I'm doing better but probably not enough :-(
  • I openly admit I don't drink nearly as much as I should. But I do drink more now than I did before I got married. (DH drinks the stuff non stop)
I got a tub of crystal light packets the last time we went shopping at sams club so I've been using those lately while I'm at work.

  • I don't drink enough and now that I'm pregnant, I think I drink less than before.  I used to drink flavored seltzer at meals and water the rest of the day, except breakfast.  After about 6 weeks of pregnancy, I developed a hate for seltzer, so I don't drink it anymore.  I drink 2 half liter bottles of water at work and then another glass or 2 at home.  I have juice with breakfast and a juice box in the morning at work.

A coworker told me today with her youngest child, she had preterm labor from not drinking enough water.  That motivated me to drink more.
  • I drink soo much water. I have a 32 OZ metal water bottle, and I drink at least 5 of them at work...I pee a lot. (This was even before I was pregnant, and no I'm not diabetic) I talk A LOT (I'm a teacher) and my mouth get dry if I don't drink enough. I go through that water bottle once a class!
