Re: GTKY Valentine's Day
1. Do you and your DH celebrate?
We don't go out to dinner or anything but he usually gets me a card, flowers and Reese's peanut butter hearts.
2. Do you have any plans if you do?
Nope, probably will just hang out at home.
3. What was your most memorable Valentine's Day?
One year he was working a ton of hours. He must of got flowers on his way home from work at a red light. They were half dead and had cookies on sticks with weird sayings like, "Be Good" It's the thought that counts that's for sure.
4. Does anyone else in your family get you anything?
My mom and grandparents used to, now they buy candy or a stuffed animal for the kids. I buy the boys a card and some candy too.
2. Do you have any plans if you do? Dinner
3. What was your most memorable Valentine's Day? The first year DH and I were together he brought me this huge pink stuffed dog and flowers to our office (we worked together). We were tryin to keep things on the DL, but he blew that out of the water and our supervirors had to "have the talk" with us about keeping things professional. So no more sneaking off to make out in the file room. Ha! Yeah right, we were kids.
4. Does anyone else in your family get you anything? I have had my Valentines card from MIL since the beginning of January. DS gets cards and small gifts from my IL's and parents.
1. Do you and your DH celebrate? I guess we try, nothing crazy
2. Do you have any plans if you do? Nothing yet. We were going to go to the Jason Aldean Concert but man those tickets were gone FAST. We haven't even thought about it yet.
3. What was your most memorable Valentine's Day? Last year Jeff found a wine pairing restaurant to take me too. It was really sweet since he doesn't like wine at.ALL. He really tried to make it special since we were apart for Valentine's day the year before.
4. Does anyone else in your family get you anything? My dad (well, really my mom) always got us something small, perfume or something. She would send me and my roomates candy and stuff at college, one year she knitted us all scarves.
We send cards to the kids. I usually get my mom something small, like a charm for her bracelet.
2. Do you have any plans if you do? n/a
3. What was your most memorable Valentine's Day? uh negative, see above.
4. Does anyone else in your family get you anything? nope
The Rowdy Roberts
2. Do you have any plans if you do? We are going down to Baltimore to spend the night, go to the aquarium, and eat some pie (http://dangerouspiesbalt.com/). It's sort of a tradition. :-) But this year we're going the weekend before to avoid the Presidents' Day weekend crowd at the aquarium.
3. What was your most memorable Valentine's Day? They were all pretty great! (see below)
4. Does anyone else in your family get you anything? Just cards these days, but it was a REALLY big deal when I was younger. My extended family kind of sucks and, therefore, Christmas and Thanksgiving were never that fantastic when I was little. So my parents made Valentine's Day very important in our house so that we could celebrate a holiday together and actually enjoy it. My dad always got us all flowers and candy and my sister and I usually got some other present, too (for example, I got the Princess Jasmine doll the year Aladdin came out). We had a special breakfast and we would decorate. It was fantastic, but set the bar pretty high for my future boyfriends, haha. It took me a while to understand that what my parents did was a little weird.
