Re: Confession Thursday

  • I confess that I am really tired of giving people as much information as humanly possible and then have them go to other people to try to get more information who then in turn call me to get the same information.

What part of "this is all the information I can give you" do these people not understand?

  • I confess that even though I have a perfectly good outfit choice for an upcoming wedding, a dress that is brand new, I still bought a beautiful silver dress as another option.  It was on sale at least!  \:D/

  • I confess I possibly should have had a little bit more water or a little bit less wine last night. Sssh! But it's making my Thursday less-than-fun. I'll power through, but I do wish I could be in bed eating a bagel.

  • I confess that I'm bored at work so I have been learning German on duolingo.com.  Hey you can't say I've been wasting my time, at least!  I also do family genealogy at familysearch.org.  I know...it's bad...

  • Few weeks ago I got called into the boss' office to get yelled at for not working with a CW.  I can't handle her.  I just... I can't.  She used to be the boss and stepped down.  She talks down to everyone, including her H (I can hear when she's yelling at him on the phone).  She never comes in on time (9ish if she's early, while the rest of us come in at 7).  So she comes over 10 mins before I leave to talk about something because she still haves 2 more hours.  She will even say - Oh look here I am 10 mins before you leave.

Confession - I really need to tell her we started this project she started helping me with but I just can't deal with her right now. She took off yesterday afternoon with a sick kid, so that bought me time, but I'm running out.

  • I confess I'm excited over plans that still may not actually happen. My childhood best friend and I were weird kids. We would religiously watch old movies and musicals--one of our personal favorites being Singin in the Rain. Just for the heck of it, I texted her to tell her that the theater in Pittsburgh will have a touring group for Singin in the Rain performing in May and June. We're apparently going now and she could not be more excited. It's weird and awesome since I haven't seen her since my wedding.

  • This might be a rant but I'm really annoyed.

I think I've touched on the office manager in my office before. She is a complete idiot. She told me today, after giving her my note from my midwives office about my modified bed rest restrictions that she was going to contact the practice and see if there were additional restrictions she needs to know about. Ok, first, why would there be anything additional that wasn't covered in the note they gave me. Second, why in God's name would I give the practice permission to release my information to you??

Am I overreacting for being so annoyed?

  • NO way!  Well there's this pesky little HIPPA thing...lol.  Wtf is she thinking??
    image
  • @WillyH19 Why does your office manager not realize there are HIPPA laws?  She can't just contact your doctor.  Your doctor gave you a note and listed all of the restriction that your employer needs to know.  If there were anything additional, it would be written.  You are not overreacting, she's over stepping her boundaries.
  • Hopefully here's how it will go.  "Yes, this is @WillyH19's midwife, how can I help you?"  "UM I need to know about any additional restrictions she might have" "Oh, yes, I see right here in her chart that I'm going to need you to stop being such a dullard."

Yeah, I have full confidence in my practice being like, uh yeah, have you not heard of HIPAA? And the ironic thing is, the association I work for is one of the leading HIPAA compliance training organizations in the country. It's about 50% of my job.

  • Your office manager must think she's above HIPAA then because she trains companies in HIPAA compliance.  Some people are so stupid.
