QOTD 1/31 part 2

edited January 2014 in October 2012 Weddings
Do you watch the Superbowl? Who is DH rooting for? What is you favorite Superbowl food?

Edited because I apparently don't know the difference between routing and rooting.

  • Always.  We both root for the NFC usually, since his team (Redskins) and mine (Bears) are NFC.  I like my baked chicken wings and a big plate of nachos and plenty of beer :)  'Merica!

  • We're both just looking for a good game. DH is leaning slightly toward Denver. Only because then a Manning might win the Super Bowl and he is a Giants fan.

I'm looking forward to all the food and all the booze!

  • I watch it! I think DH is rooting for Denver. I'm a Giants fan and thus would love to have Eli's brother win another game too, but I like an underdog, so a part of me is hoping for Seattle, but mostly I just want a good game.

My favorite Super Bowl food is probably nachos, but we're doing chili and cornbread, which I love too!

  • I...am not actually sure who we're rooting for this year? Both are teams we don't usually care about, and both defeated teams we dislike in the playoffs, so there's that. I am going to say Seahawks simply because I'm sick of Peyton Manning. That's about as much as I know; H is sort of a football expert because he used to play, whereas I enjoy watching the games but don't follow the stats or anything too closely.

Menu plan is pizza, wings, and hard cider. Yummo!

  • I honestly don't care to watch it. Sometimes I'll watch the half time show, but I'm so over Bruno Mars that I'm not even interested in that this year.

Actually, DH and I don't really watch professional sports at all. I watch the olympics and I love to watch tennis, but that's it. H and I went to a high school that valued sports over academics and, growing up, we always felt cheated by the school district because we excelled academically but not athletically. I guess we're still bitter about that and have no desire to watch.

  • We will probably not watch it. H isn't into sports at all and I like college football and hockey. We will likely DVR the game and fast forward to the commercials.

that stinks that your school was like that :(

and yeah, the halftime show has sucked for me for like 10 years.  The last time I remember enjoying it was when Britney Spears, Aerosmith, and N*Sync were there!!  woop woop!

Ooh, that's a good idea!  I'll probably do the same.

I'm not rooting for anyone and don't know who H is rooting for.  We've only hosted Super Bowl once and I think we ordered pizza and wings.  I've never really had any "Super Bowl Food".

DH is rooting for for Seattle.  I don't give a crap about sports at all.

I love hot wings!  I'm really excited to share my homemade hot sauce this year.  It will be the highlight of the day for me.  Well that and mimosas!

  • We're probably rooting for Denver because, as I said in my other post, we're from TN and H is a huge Manning fan. I don't really care. haha. I'm just hoping for a good game! And I'm totally excited for commercials.

It's just going to be the two of us...I don't know if we have any food plans..Maybe I'll make sausage balls. Yum!!

  • Both DH and I are hoping that Seattle wins. DH is a diehard Seattle fan even though he has always lived in NY. Lol

My love just about all football food. I am making one of my favorite dips, jalepeno popper dip. It's sooo good with Ritz baked crackers.

  • I do watch the Superbowl and I am way more in to sports then H. I'm cheering for the Broncos, but in all honestly I dont care. My team is the Packers. H is far more interested in all the food. He loves wings. I love nachos. And beer. But I won't be having any of that this year. :(

  • Neither of us watch any sports. We are going to DH uncles house but only for the food lol. We love it all but our fav is Buffalo chicken dip.
  • In more recent years, yes. I mostly tune in for the commercials though. Definitely want to watch for halftime. Not sure who if anyone DH is rooting for. Probably not gonna do any fancy party food.
