Luckyangel07 or islandmonkey8

One of you said you make the chicken pocket things?

I made them and yummm!

But I have a question, whenever I make anything with crescents I have a problem with the bottom always being underdone. Am I just not cooking them long enough? Or do you have any hints to help?

Thanks :-)

Re: Luckyangel07 or islandmonkey8

  • @luckyangel07 makes these. My guess would be the oven is either too hot and cooks the top too quickly, or too cold. I dunno though! I'm sure lucky can help.

  • They're from me!

If your bottoms aren't done, you might want to try one of two things. Turning down the oven temp (how hot did you set it?) or moving the rack down; it might be set too high, so the tops are getting dark before the bottoms have time to cook.

When we make them, DH think he sets the oven around 400 and cooks them close to 15 minutes (but check often after 10, because you don't want them to get too dark!).

  • The recipe I had said 350 for 30.
  • Hmmmm. I don't know then! Is the filling too wet so it soaks the dough? I can see that causing doneness issues.

  • Thanks for trying to help! This recipe had cream of chicken poured over it, so maybe that was the problem. I'm really not sure. It was good although the bottom wasn't quite done!
