When are you getting your taxes done? Do you think your getting a refund? What are you going to do with it?

We got ours done last night. We owe $500 to Federal, getting $1000 back from the state. So $500 in the green. Using that to pay off the Jeep a month early - WOOHOO!

DH is doing ours. I honestly have no clue how much he has left because I stay as far away from that whole process as possible. I think we're just waiting for some documents from my stock account to come in. We should be getting a refund, so yay!!!

This month sometime. I think this year might be our last refund...probably will put it in the savings account. Tax stuff is lame.

We plan on going either this weekend or next weekend. I'm really hoping for a big refund this year. We got royally screwed last year and owed over $4,000. If we get a refund, we plan to use it to pay the mortgage while I'm on maternity leave.

Hopefully, we'll get ours done this month. I'm still waiting for some tax documents to come in the mail (I hate it when places wait until the deadline to mail your tax documents!). Last year we got a nice refund, so I'm hoping for the same this year. We'll put the refund in our savings account since I'm not getting my grad school stipend right now. The extra $ will be a big help!

I've had to pay taxes for the past 5 years, so this is definitely not an exciting time for us. I changed up our W4's early last year so hopefully we will pay much less because we owed almost $6K last time. Sucks!

My dad usually does mine. Last year I got 1800 back, so here's hoping that is about what I get this year. I use it to pay off credit cards, add to savings etc. If we get a decent refund this year, we'll use it for baby stuff.

Got federal done. My MIL is doing them for us. Didn't clear too much so far (we got hit hard since DH cashed in his 401k from his old job) We're planning on each getting a new computer with what we did get back. I'm using a little netbook that I got while in college and it is definitely starting to show its age. I'm dreading local taxes. We get to file for one month because we moved in the middle of January from my inlaws. Blah.

We haven't done them yet, will probably go over president's weekend since im off friday and monday. We usually get a refund and with having the baby last year and H being in school, student loans, the house, etc we always get a refund, our guy is pretty good! We will probably put it into savings, the baby's 529 account and maybe put a chunk toward one of H's student loans that is minimal but still there....

We are still waiting on a few documents to come in then i will use one of the tax prep tools to get an estimate of where we are sitting before we take it to our tax person. H gets per diem for trucking otherwise i would do our taxes. Next year i will do them since this year is the last year he will get it since he switched to a local run that brings him home everyday instead of otr 5-6 days a week.

We're going to go over to H's parents tomorrow night to start them. We've got all of our documents except for our stock documents. Neither of us sold anything, so it shouldn't make much difference once we do get them. We should get a good chunk back! We'll save it for now, but eventually put it towards a down payment on a new car for me.

The perks of being married to an accountant, H did them last week, but wasn't able to file federal until yesterday and state until today. He filed them both this morning. We're getting a big chunk back from federal, but we owe the state a little. I hate having to pay them after I pay so much all year.
