Home Depot is totally on my shit list right now

We bought a new washer and dryer and had it installed on Saturday. I noticed it smelled down there on Saturday but the guy told me that was normal since the line had been shut off by the previous owners so there was a build up? I don't know anything about anything and Shawn wasn't here so I didn't think anything of it. Flash forward to this morning, I asked Shawn to look at the dryer when he got home because I ran a load of towels through 3 times and they still weren't dry. He goes to look at it and noticed that the gas valve was turned off. He turns it back on and starts the dryer. Within minutes our entire house smelled like gas! Those little Home Depot fuckers had cracked our line, noticed they cracked it, and just shut the valve off to stop the gas from leaking out without telling me!! WTF! Did you think we would never notice?! I'm so livid right now that I'm shaking.

Re: Home Depot is totally on my shit list right now

  • Oh my gosh. Cocksuckers. Why don't people just man up to their mistakes?! I'm going through similarly frustrating stupid people on trying to close with this house. It's a really sensitive topic between me and H right now. Lots of arguments...

  • I never trust Home Depot. We do work for Lowe's and they aren't any better. 90% of the warranty work we do for Lowe's is stuff they did. I would never let them install my stuff. Sorry you are dealing with it have you called Home Depot and spoke to a manager about it? I would complain!
  • Oh jeez! How horrible!!! They better have someone repair it at NO cost to you and compensate you. Jerks

  • I've gone to war with home depot over their fuckups with our kitchen cabinets and custom doors. They measured to kitchen wrong (oops didn't notice that giant window there). Don't even deal with the local store, call corporate. What was a 4 week ordeal was resolved in 2 hrs with a check cut back to us. I did go a little apeshit on corporate

  • They said they'd be out here first thing in the morning to correct it. It's now 11:30 and no sign of them. I've been on hold with corporate for 5 minutes. I'm really going to scream.

  • wow! i hope they fix it soon!
  • Just an FYI - they admitted they broke it. It will take 3-4 weeks for their plumber to come look at it....

LOL right! I was like uh... it's a gas leak. It's not like a chip in my counter top. It can't wait 3-4 weeks.
