Has anyone read Labor Day? (NS)

If there was ever a book that needed a "is this going to get better?" post, this is it!

What a f*cking snooze fest!  It is only 189 pages on my ipad- and I've been reading for days and I am still barely half way through.
GAH!
I hate to give up when it is so short.

I can see how it could be adapted into a nice movie though (so long as they add some excitement)
GAH! (again)

Re: Has anyone read Labor Day? (NS)

  • I thought it was awful.  I hate what Henry had to go through (was that the boy's name?  I can't even remember).  I DON'T see how it would be a good movie - I hope they added some drama or something.

  • This makes me sad! But I'm glad for the warning. My book club was thinking about reading this, and I'll take it off our list.

  • I was in the middle of it when my kindle loan expired.  I really don't have the desire to borrow it again.

  • Didn't like the book, the movie was not any better.

  • Boo!  I was holding out hope the movie may have been good.

I may need to give up then.
Not worth reading a boring bad book.

  • The movie was SO BORING.  Even Kate Winslet was a huge disappointment.  She had one facial expression through the entire movie.  Frank was less likable and the "pie scene" was the most unsexy moment I've seen in a long time.

  • Yup- I'm done then.

Grrr. Stupid list of "Books you must read before seeing the movie"
    Fail!

Troubled Kate Winslet with a love interest named Frank? I feel like she already did this.

  • I finished it yesterday. I agree with all of the above and really didn't enjoy the ending.
