Well my last post turned into kind of a downer. Glad you ladies got to vent but let's cheer the place up!

What are some vacations or trips you are planning for yourself, you and DH and/or as a family? Set in stone or still in the planning stages? Just fantasizing?

DH is going to Boston in April for PAX East. We've gone together for the last several years, but decided I'd sit this one out to save money. He's crashing with a bunch of buddies in a shared hotel room. It'll be his personal babymoon. :P

In July we're going to Europe for my sister's wedding. She's getting married in Newcastle Upon Tyne and we're hoping to spend 2 weeks over there, including a day or two in Paris. The actual amount of time spent will depend on how much we're able to find flights for.

I want to go to Disneyland with A so bad! I have to wait for her to be a little older though.

Fantasizing is definitely Hawaii. It will likely happen once we're debt free, but it's still one that's pretty high on our list.

I leave on Wednesday for SanDiego. My best friend and her family are stationed there, and I've visited each place they've been stationed at over the last 7 years. Next one is possibly France. So I'm really hoping H will go with me to see her there in a couple of years.

Me, DH, the new baby and Lexi, with my parents, brother and his daughter, are planning a big family trip to Disney World the first week of December. I'm so excited to go.

We are also planning to go to New York for the weekend sometime around our 1 year anniversary.

We always go visit friends in the Berkshires for DH's birthday. We will most likely go for a weekend the last week in March.

We would like to do a big trip that goes from here, to New York, to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, then to Nashville then back up. This way we can stop at some landmarks, and see friends (one lives in NJ the other lives in Georgia, but he's driving up to Nashville to meet up with us). I'm hoping this trip will take place sometime next year.

@smbenevides1989, if you roll through Philly, we'll have to GTG!

Only planned trip right now is to the Outer Banks at the end of May. My stepmom has rented the same house (mansion) down there for the last several years in a row. There are a ton of people there, and it's just a fantastic week of hanging out/relaxing, checking out local OBX sites, eating delicious food, and enjoying the company. I cannot WAIT for this year's trip, because as soon as my sister found out she was pregnant too, she said they'd definitely be going so we can see each other with our respective bumps!!

We were supposed to also go to France (staying in Normandy area) at the tail end of August into September with my dad/stepmom/little sister. It would have been DH's second time to France (he went in high school and has been dying to go back ever since) and my first ever trip to Europe. Believe me, I am THRILLED to be pregnant and so happy for this baby, but when I think about that trip, and that we can't go anymore, it really bums me out.

We really want to go to California soon, when we were there last year we had such a bad experience that right now we really dislike California. So we want to give it another try.

We are also planning a vacation with my mom, her husband, my sister, nephews, DH, Isis and myself to Florida. We always have wanted to go as a family but my mom and her husband are the worst ones to get days off. Blah. Hopefully it'll happen.

@bridget0117 what happened? if us don't mind sharing. I've lived here all my life but I am by no means a Californian. I'd move out of state in an instant but with certain parameters.

@sgautchi what age you thinking? we took DR when she turned 1 and she loved it. We even got annual passes at the time and went often.

We have nothing planned or in the works. I'm hoping to get to Wisconsin at the end of my maternity leave to introduce this baby to my extended family and let everyone visit with Lucy some more. It's still more of a hope than a plan, though. I think we're just accepting that with the new baby there won't be a vacation this year. I'm ok with that, but if anyone wants to buy a week at my timeshare in Cabo San Lucas, let me know!

My still fantasizing but hopeful ones are a trip down the west coast. Gotta love a good road trip

Disney World someday. Mexico or Caribbean cruise.

I am planning a trip to Vegas with DH for my birthday.

Possibly a family vacation to San Diego or something.

I think the only thing we will do is out to Iowa to visit family for the 4th. Not a dream vaca but I always enjoy it.

Oh, and we are talking about staying at his parents ski time share in Michigan for Christmas. I don't ski and I'm so over snow right now so I don't think about this yet. Neither counts as a real vacation to us anyway.

I switched jobs this year to be able to spend more time with W so we will probably just spend this year adjusting to that.

We just got back from San Fran tonight.

We are planning on possibly visiting BIL when he comes back from deployment in late summer. We've yet to meet our niece who is almost 2.

In a few years we are planning on taking the kids along with my brother and his kid who is basically Zack's age to Disneyland/world. We already took Delilah to Disneyland when she was 20 mo old since we were right there for a friend's wedding and she loved it.

I still would love to go to Ireland and Belgium someday. I'd also love to take DH to Italy and Spain. I've been, but he never has.

@vitan, sorry I hadn't seen you asked me a question. This is going to get long.

Well the thing is, we went out there because one Of my husband's cousin was getting married. Well my ILs also went but they drove and DH hadn't seen his family in California for years. So it was basically just seeing his family instead of vacationing.

We had agreed that we would see his family but that we would also take time for just us since it was also our babymoon. We rented a car in LA and the whole week we were in Cali, his mom and sisters (which I really dislike) would ride with us because they didn't want to put more miles on their vehicle.

Anyway, his family said they planned so much fun stuff for us, blah!! They took us to a farm, yes a farm! To pick strawberries and fruit, I ended up breaking my two front teeth here and dh and I got into a huge fight because I was so upset about my teeth. Lol. Later that same night they took us to Santa Monica to have dinner, the food sucked and it was so cold.

I was super excited to go to California since I was born there and had never been back. The. Best part of the trip was eating In and Out Burger.

We want to give it another try and try to actually enjoy our time and have some amazing dinner somewhere.

Ventura and Oxnard are very beautiful places though. I just need to see it again and not be in such a bad mood about it. Lol.

well no wonder your visit sucked! I'm so sorry to hear about your teeth and just the whole experience. I'm not an L.A. fan. I mean it was cool doing the Beverly Hills and Hollywood visits when I was a kid and then the Sunset Strip in college but I steer clear from it now. however, there are some beauties in So Cal like San Diego and Orange County. Palm Springs is nice during the "winter", of course. And then all the different attraction parks. Hope your next visit is better!

I'm so late, but I want to play! We finally booked a week long vacation/babymoon to Cabo this May, which we are really looking forward to. We've been wanting to take a real vacation ever since our honeymoon, but never put it as a priority. It'll be an easy, all inclusive type thing and I plan to lay by/in the pool most of the time

@bridget0117 - I lived in Ventura and Oxnard for 3.5 yrs. Some places are nice, but there are quite a few not so nice areas as well. I know they're building up Oxnard a lot more and it seems to be helping somewhat though. Still wasn't a place I wanted to live forever or have my kids grow up in.

I was born in ventura so I had to go there to get a copy of my birth certificate (mom spilled coffee on mine when I was a few weeks old and is now completely ripped, lol) and driving through it was very beautiful. We didn't stay or anything but it was DEFINITELY better than LA. Lol.

If we go back we want to go to San Diego and visit sea world and go to all the fun attractions but I'm not sure when we should go. I want it to be nice and warm so that we can sit at the beach and maybe even go in the beach. I also want DD to enjoy the trip.

Any recommendations of the best time of year to go?
