2 Things Tuesday

On my BMB they did a 10 things Tuesday. Ten is a lot, so let's do 2 things. Share any two things you want.

1. I talked about a lot of stuff with my mil today while Abby and I visited. It was so nice to talk to her about being a SAHM and other things since she was one too. I feel much better after talking to her.
2. I am excited, nervous, and worried about making the switch to cloth diapers. I've been researching and obsessing over them. I think it is the right choice for us. My cousin told me I was brave when I told her I was going to switch. My mil didn't like the  idea at first, but understands I am trying to save money whereever I can find it.

Your turn...

Re: 2 Things Tuesday

  • 1. Filed for FAFSA. Then talked to T on his break. Ended up getting into a fight over how many loans I'm taking out for school. It wasn't even official. Just was frustrated with that. I'm trying to get through school and take as many credits as I can so more loans is necessary.

    2. I hate when I start worrying. After I hung up the phone with T, I starting thinking: "We shouldn't go to Disney, we really need to use the money to help pay off my loans...maybe I should take a semester off..."

There's a lot more. Just don't feel like typing it all out. And that probably didn't make sense.

  • Student loans caused a lot of worry in our house last week. I know what you mean. Go on your trip. You deserve a break.
  • Thanks = ) I know T is just worried about finances in the future...but it's either take the loans out now or later. If I don't just buckle down and get school done...I will never finish. I figure I might as well take as much as can and that will able me to take more credits per semester and finish faster.

  • Coming from someone who has 50,000 in SL and has a husband with 65,000 in SL loans, TAKE THE LOANS.  you will have time to pay them back with a low interest rate.  This is your time to get your education.  You say you will go back, but you don't know what will come up.  There is never a perfect time for anything.  The same goes for your vacation.  Plus, FAFSA can get you grants and scholarships as well! So FAFSA=/= All loans.

If you ever need help, don't hesitate to PM me!
  • 1. I ate too much at dinner so my stomach hurts!

    2. I am not going to KS this weekend, and really sad about it.
  • I agree on taking the loans. I have about 45,000 in loans but that was because I buckled down and took a lot of credits so I could get done faster. Repaying them sucks but I'm done with school!

  • Oh and my two things: 1) my mom brought a puppy home. 2nd new dog in the last month. I think she's crazy. But it's making me wish P didn't hate dogs. And 2) P is driving me crazy. We haven't done anything outside the house since we moved here (at least not together). I was trying to get him to commit to doing something this weekend since it's supposed to be in the 60s. So far no luck. Might just be Lily and I going to the Park.

Joy just left the new house for the first time by herself yesterday and we've been there for about three weeks now.

Don't think too much about the loans.  You would have taken those amounts out anyway eventually and if your college is like mine, there are fees you pay for each semester you're there so the less semesters, the less fees you'll end up paying which will eventually save you money. :)

As for the trip, I will tell you this.  There is always *something* that will come up.  If you wait until the stars align perfectly, you'll never go.  I say this trying to figure out how to schedule our next cruise....

  • Michelle if you need a babysitter for date night ever you can call my nanny. She is awesome.
  • I agree with everyone with the loans. Don't worry too much about it. There are very few people out there that don't have college loans.

Michelle- I think that you need to take him out in really short little outings. He seems a lot like J, and I know that J would have some issues leaving the house. It's all unfamiliar, and you have to show him it's nothing to have anxiety over.

    My two things-

1- I wish I had more time to watch the Olympics. I look forward to them, and I have barely even had the chance to turn them on.

2- I'm still enjoying the snow days, even though a lot of people around here aren't. I love snow.

  • Ok I should edit that: we have gone out to dinner twice. It's more that he doesn't want to go to the park, the mall, where ever I suggest because he would rather play games on his computer. I know a lot of it is that he works away from home now so he doesn't get to play games on his slow days. So less game time means that's all he wants to do in his free time. I'm hoping and waiting for him to find a balance.

Maybe he'll eventually "catch up" and then it'll slow down.  I used to play a lot of games when I was younger.  Two things caused me to stop doing so much of it.  1) the cost of games, 2) you really can't play them in small chunks.  It takes hours to achieve certain things and you can't save part way though.

    I am a free babysitter. :)

  • J has this problem too. Which is why our schedule works, because I tell him he has to spend time with me when I am up. Maybe you should ask for a certain time each weekend to be spent as family time.
