WIJFR: Champion by Marie Lu (Legend series) (spoilers)

Oh my.. I loved this series!

I was heartbroken that Day didn't remember June after his surgery. And then it was so sweet when they were finally reintroduced years later.

  • I LOVED this series and the thought the ending was really well done.
    my read shelf:
B's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • I absolutely adore the ending.  One of the things that sometimes bothers me about YA books is that first love (yes, sweet, yes, passionate) is not realistically forever love.  I love how they became their own people, had experiences outside of each other, and came back together anyway.

    I completely agree with you.

  • The ending of Champion was a little rough for me, but then I decided it made sense.  I mean, she got Day's family killed.  How were they supposed to move past that?  I do think that Day had to sacrifice something big in exchange for not dying when he probably should have died - just to keep things in balance.  So, Day's memory for ten years was the sacrifice.  I was also interested to see that she did try to date the Elector and move on, but that it could never work out because her true love was Day. And the end, with "Hi, I'm Daniel."  That was exactly how he once wished his relationship with June would begin.  So now they get that!  And they are both only around 27 years old or something, so they still have their whole lives ahead of them.  After some consideration, I liked the ending. :x
