Finally figured out Overdrive.

Oh brother. Library books on my Kindle is dangerous.

I feel frantic with all the possibility.

  • Hehe it's awesome....the only thing that annoys me is the few publishers who won't let their books be delivered via wisphernet so you actually have to plug in your device to the computer and manually add it. However it's a first world problem and a small price to pay :)
  • It's awesome. I love the instant gratification without having to actually purchase ebooks since I'm cheap.

I love overdrive but now I have this library book in my overdrive library and I can't get rid of it.  ITs driving me crazy.  Usually after they expire they make you delete them.  I've finished this book and I want it out of my library but it won't expire and I've tried every which way to delete it and it won't go away.  It's driving me nuts.  I don't think I downloaded it as an epub book.  I think its downloaded as a pdf file.  Still if you press delete it should delete gah!

I've also tried every which way to delete this stupid 50 books in 2013 siggy and it won't go away either!  FML.

  • I love overdrive!  I don't even have to get dressed to get new library books, and I can play on it at work!   My DH will even get audiobooks from it so that we can listen in the car together!

  • @lab7979 Not sure about your Overdrive problem but try this link for you siggy:  http://forums.thenest.com/profile/signature

Penguin recently lifted their restrictions and now everything can be sent to the Kindle wirelessly. This makes me very happy! And I love the audiobooks too. Apparently OverDrive is trying to move toward having all MP3 files and get rid of the WMA format, which will make things SO much easier for everyone since MP3 compatible with all devices and can be downloaded wirelessly. I love that they are making things easier all the time.

I probably have 200 titles on my wishlist...yikes. At least I'll never run out of things to read!

  • I need to figure this out. I don't have a library card though because I don't like the library in this county as much as my old one. The staff is unhelpful and the books are never in the correct spot.

You can delete it from your device when you are done.  If you want to "return" it early (and have a kindle), you have to go to your kindle account on Amazon & there is a drop down with an option to return the book.

Not sure if it is the same for nook, sony, etc...
