Re: FFFC

  • I've been feeling so crummy after dinner that I have yet to clean my house. I left all the dirty pots, pans, and dishes in the sink and the counter. I also have laundry in baskets that needs to be put away.  <-- I'm surprised my OCD hasn't taken over yet. Usually my house is spotless.

  • My house is also a mess but instead of cleaning I'm watching a movie called "Too Young To Die".
  • I don't plan on answering phone calls, text, or facebook messages tomorrow. I will not know anything until Monday when my OB goes over the results so what is the point of fielding "So how did it go" then "So what happens now?" I won't know, so I'm not going to answer. Since I know my ILs will also attempt to call DH. He's been informed that's he's not allow to inform them of anything and by answering their calls he knows he'll have to deal with them.

I plan on spending the day cleaning my whole house. It is a huge mess! I think part of me feeling better will be taking care of all the things I need to do. I can relax better in a clean house.

I don't have one...but I have to post this one that was on my BMB today.  It's kind of amazing.

"My DS has never had any kind of sweets, so I have no shame about eating them in front of him. Today I ate a whole bag of Hershey's Kisses in front of him and he wanted to try one. I told him they were special mommy food that will make baby brother grow strong and healthy, and that he could have a snack made for little boys, like grapes. He was thrilled with his grapes. I might never let him in on the chocolate secret."
I see matricide in this kids future.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

  • I'm that crazy mom that is going to keep Ava Nichol's first Valentine's she got from her friends. I think it will be cute to make a scrapbook page with them. I might keep them every year.

My mom didn't let us have sweets until we were like, 5. Seriously. Our 5th birthday cake was chocolate mousse, and I'm pretty sure that was the first time we ever had chocolate, and possibly any type of sugar. I don't remember ever feeling like I was missing something. I doubt I'll be able to keep my kid away from all sugar for that long (FIL alone will end up sneaking it), but I'd like to at least get through the first year or two before introducing sweets.

DD had her first taste of sweets on her first birthday.  She got a cupcake.  She had ice cream for the first time shortly thereafter and her first taste of candy at her second Halloween (so about 20 mo).  She rarely got any sweets those first two years but we've laxed up a bit now.  She still doesn't drink juice or soda.  I don't see the need for the excess sugar.  And she really does get excited about fruit.  She loves it.  But then again, I wouldn't sit in front of her eating a bag of candy....
