Caleb Adam came into the world rather quickly yesterday. Started with cramping period-like pain around 3:30pm. At 5:15, I started having contractions. I immediately fell into a pattern of contracting every 3-4 minutes. By the time we got to the hospital at 6:45 I was having them every 2.5-3 mins. I was 4cm/100%/-1. I refused the epidural at that time because I was afraid it would slow my progress. I was given a dose of stadol which did next to nothing. By 8:30, I was begging for the epidural. They checked me and I was 8cm. They allowed me to get it, for which I was very grateful. I started pushing around 9:30 and our handsome guy was born at 10:02. It was ridiculously fast but worth it in the end. He weighed 7lbs 8.8oz and was 20" long!
