I called in because Husband sick...

So my poor hubby has had a 100* and over for now 3 days just not going away even after taking ibruprohin ..going to doctor today. I feel like it is wrong for me to call out of work this morning just because he is sick. I am just being overly worried. Have you ever called out for a really sick hubby???

Re: I called in because Husband sick...

  • Not for H being sick but I have for MIL. However she couldn't take care of herself so it was different.
  • No, but I did leave work early the day he broke his arm.

Hope your hubby feels better soon!

  • I used holiday time when my h had hernia surgery. It was on my birthday, and I hadn't taken any holidays in a long time. It was on a Wednesday, so I took the rest of the week off.

I wouldn't call in just cause he's sick though.

  • H rarely gets sick *knocks on wood*, I have taken personal time to be late to go to the doctors once with him because he wanted support for an issue he was having.  I am the one with the health issues and depending on the situation H will take some time to come with me. I only ask for the really important ones.

It's strange you posed this... i'm actually going through this right now... except he's in the hospital...

Chris has an auto immune disorder and this year hes had pneumonia, shingles, upper respiratory infection lower respiratory infection, laryngitis, bronchitis and some other stuff. i'm lucky i have an understanding employer.

  • I wouldn't call in if H was sick...mostly because I am the one with the weaker immune system so when he gets sick it usually means I am next and I need to save calling in/sick days for when I feel like crap.
