my friend is having a problem with her cat and not getting any answers from the vet so i thought i would try on here.
The cat is about 1 1/2 years old. He has always chewed wires, chewed the computer keyboard wire, alarm clock wires, christmas light wires. shoe laces, and he just gets into everything.
About 4 months ago he all of a sudden wasnt acting right, drooling alot and was just out of it. but then he was fine and came out of it. Then it happened again but this time he couldnt really move and if you waved your hand in front of his face he didnt move either. The cat was brought to the vets and they gave him fluids and couldn't find anything wrong with him. The vet did say that the cat pooped something white. So they thought it was a dryer sheet that he ate. Well then the other day they were home and heard a noise on the basement stairs and thought that he knocked over a pair of boots that was on the staris. Well they went to look and the cat was at the bottom of the stairs. (Like he fell down the stairs) They brought him to the vets again and they did blood work and everything came back normal. They gave him fluids.
They dont have any answers as to what is going on.
Any one have any suggestions?

If it were me, I would also go through my house room by room and try to eliminate all the things that the cat might get into. We have a cat that likes to get into just about anything, so we had to remove as many temptations as possible. When we leave the house we only leave the door to one room open (where the litter boxes are) and close the rest so he can't get into too much trouble. It sounds silly, but try crawling around on the floor to get on the cat's level and try to find anything that might be hidden from normal view that the cat could be getting in to.
If possible maybe try and play with the cat a little more too (assuming that the cat is ingesting something bad and that is what is causing the problem). Cats are curious animals but a tired pet is less likely to get bored and start getting into things. I know my furballs tend to get into more mischief if we don't do regular play sessions.
Good luck to your friend!
