My OB/GYN called me yesterday morning to tell me the results from the repeat bloodwork. This time my prolactin levels were good. However, my anti-mullerian levels were still low. She told me that the anti-mullerian hormone is a test for ovarian reserve (i.e. remaining egg supply). The number the first time was .73, and the last round it came back at .9. She said for me only being 26, she would expect that number to be somewhere between 2-3. Basically, she said that the chances of us being able to conceive naturally are pretty low, and that we'll likely need an IUI. She also said with DH's abnormal SA, that doesn't help our cause either
Needless to say, I was pretty bummed yesterday. My doctor gave me a couple of names for RE's, so I called one of them and have an appointment tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to the RE that my SIL went to (she had to do IVF for her daughter). The RE's office told me that they wouldn't repeat any test that already has been done. The only thing our insurance pays for is the testing and diagnostic, so the majority of this will be all out of pocket. So, that will delay us some as well, because we'll need to save up some money. ![]()
