A/S fail

Welp, baby wasn't cooperating this morning, so there will be no gender reveal today.  I finally convinced myself it would be better for my sanity to find out so I could plan better (I hate most "gender-neutral" baby stuff and now I really want to know!  For someone who was on the fence about finding out in the first place, I'm way more upset than I should be. I just feel so let down.  Plus, now it means no yummy dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant; there's no point. Double whammy.

The good-ish news (besides the fact that everything else looked good - and believe me, I'm thankful for this!) is the tech had a problem getting one of the pictures that she needed, so it's up to the doctor to decide if she wants us to try again.  It was a heart picture, so I would hope that's an important one!  If not, I don't know what we'll do. The thought of waiting to find out til I deliver is no longer appealing to me. At all.

Stubborn child!  And DH is probably the least stubborn person I know, so we know whose fault it is! Sigh... I need a pick me up.

Oh no! That stinks. Hopefully you'll get another chance so they can get what they missed. With any luck baby will cooperate then. Sorry :(.

    edited for spelling.

  • Darn! I was so excited to hear your reveal today! Hopefully you will be able to have another u/s to find out! You could look into having an elective u/s if there is a place in your area that does them!

  • Booo!! That's so disappointing!!!

I really hope the doc wants you to come back in to get the heart images they need and that baby cooperates and you can find out then!

If not, ditto PPs about looking into places that do elective u/s. I know I have one very nearby that does the 3D u/s; two of DH's cousins are pregnant right now and have gone there a couple of times, so I can't imagine it would be too terribly expensive.

  • Sorry :(  We were team green both times and I loved it but I understand wanting to find out to.  Especially when you were expecting to find out today.  Hope doc gives you another U/S or you could always opt for an elective.

    Glad all looks well though.

  • I'm sorry that you weren't able to see baby bits today. Glad the rest of the u/s went well though. I agree with the pps about the elective.

  • noooo!! darn you small child, why couldn't you cooperate!!
  • Aw man!!  I'm glad to hear the u/s went well, but BOOOOOOOO to baby PandP not cooperating!  If it was a heart pic they didn't get, I'd bet your OB wants you to get another one.  We had to go in another time because of heart pics.  Hopefully LO will cooperate that time!  FX you get another u/s for pics and don't have to shell out the money for an elective.

  • I'm going to guess girl, because it took them 45 minutes to finally see A's lady parts. And I would assume it would be hard to hide boy parts. ;)

I hope they will decide to get those pictures of the heart and try to see baby again. If not, could you do an elective ultrasound?
