I did something, as a parent, that I said I would never do

I bought the girls matching outfits.  I saw this dress that I loved and I thought, "it's so great, I'm getting 2!"  It just always seemed weird to me do dress your kids exactly the same, but now I'm doing it.

Does anyone else have a confession?  Maybe something juicier than mine?

I have one more...Dd is so into knock-knock jokes right now.  The ones she makes up are just so awful.  They make no sense and she insists on telling 10 of them in a row.  I feel like a bad mom when I don't laugh hysterically at them.

Re: I did something, as a parent, that I said I would never do

  • I've done that with Mason and Garrett on more than one occasion!  Sometimes it was for pictures because I just couldn't find two outfits that coordinated...but sometimes it was because I thought it looked cute, and I am not ashamed to admit that!  Since boys clothes are the absolute worst, I had to adjust my standards.

Mason is into knock knock jokes too, and none of them make any sense.  I've tried to teach him a few oldies, but then he improvises and it's all downhill from there.

  • I would totally do matching outfits but it's tougher with the boy/girl thing especially now that Keefer is in big boy clothes.  I did put them in matching Pens t-shirts once or twice.

I'm sure I've done lots of things as a parent that I said I would never do.

  • I never thought I would still have an almost 3 year-old in bed with me about 50% of the time. He goes to bed on his own, but often wakes in the middle of the night. The only goes back to sleep if he has a death grip on my hair, so he ends up sleeping next to me.
Thank goodness he doesn't move at all in his sleep, so at least I'm not getting kicked or pushed out of bed because he's next to me.

  • I dress my boys in matching clothes all the time :)  and not necessarily for special occasions, sometimes I just buy them the same shirts for fun.

  • I would probably do it more, but they are 4.5 years apart, so it seems like there's never much matching stuff.  Noah is over in the 8-20 section now, and if you thought boys clothes were ugly before...this section is down right hideous.
  • My mom dressed my two youngest sisters alike for years, so much so that people used to think they were twins. They are four years apart.

That's so funny bec last nite at dinner my little one was telling knock knock jokes but she doesn't get it at all either, haha.

I went thru a phase of dressing my girls alike a lot but now its holidays and if the outfit is really cute and they both have it!

  • I have an only child but I have worn something on occasion so that DD and I sort of match, like we both wore red sweaters on valentines day.

I made the mistake of laughing at DD's knock knock jokes so I've convinced her that they are actually funny when they are not.

    That's what happened here too!

  • I dressed DD1 and DD2 in matching dresses on Saturday when we went to an anniversary party. DD1 actually wants to match DD2, and they're almost 5 1/2 years apart. They were adorable. :)
