When you walk into our house, our dining room is to the left and office/playroom to the right (shut off with a french door). Straight ahead is an extra wide hallway. That leads to a very open floor plan (mud room, kitchen, family room).
The dining room currently has a chair rail and shadow boxes (the rest of the house does not). Would it be weird to add a chair rail/shadow boxes to the wide hallway, if we don't do it to the rooms that lead off of it (mud room, kitchen, family room)? I was thinking we might do the entryway (to the right and left of the main door) as well.
Sorry if that's confusing or hard to visualize
