Re: :::sigh:::

  • Whomp, whomp! I felt the Sta-Puff Marshmallow man by the end of my pregnancy. I could take my finger, push into the skin and there would be a fun indentation that would stay there for awhile. At least you're in the home stretch, and the swelling goes down pretty soon after delivery!

  • Appointment went well.  I brought up the fact that I've gained 6 pounds since my last appointment and my OB said, "Yep, that's probably from retained water.  I'd expect to gain another 5-10 pounds before you deliver." :-O

  • @JennaHack - I'm right there with you.  I've been fine, and then this morning I went to put on my socks and couldn't really get them over my feet without a fight.

    That's not good.  It goes with the territory, though, I guess.

  • Glad it went well! The water retention/swelling will for sure go away, though, so water weight is nbd, the swelling that accompanies it is the suck, though!

  • Luckily you lose all that water weight in the first week, so don't worry. Sorry about your swollen ankles though. I was the unlucky one that started getting that super early, like 20-24 weeks. :/

  • Ugh - swelling sucks. :( Mine hit right before the induction and after delivery. At least it means you're close to being done.
    Congrats to my TTC buddy Madeline! Cheering for all the strong 3T ladies!

  • Sorry to be Debbie Downer, but the swelling might not go away right away. It was really bad in the days following delivery. The nurses said that was normal and I was so pissed that no one warned me about it! I thought it would be an almost immediate thing. It probably took me 4-6 weeks before my feet weren't swollen any more. (They are still bigger than pre-pregnancy, just not swollen now.) the good news is that they hurt a lot less within a couple of weeks.
