Re: Favorite MM Blogs?

  • MW and I don't go to many blogs for advice.  I listen to Dave Ramsey and we both watch Suzi Orzmun.  She did find Dave Ramsey for a second while driving home the other day.

We are trying to be minimalists to a degree with the exception of books that we love and games that we can play.

The hardest thing is to explain to her mom that we don't need her buying our LO toys all of the time and then sending them home with us.  I did also have to have a talk with MW about her parents buying us an drawing board that takes up a lot of room in our small home.

Since we are trying for a second LO, we do have our basement stocked with a lot of toys and clothes that our LO has out grown.  These will disappear as our next LO out grows them.

oooh, I gotta check this one out tonight.  I consider myself a minimalist!  I would love to get rid of all of DD's too small clothes but DH says if we end up having another girl I would be pissed which is true to an extent BUT we won't even be trying again for another year!  Thank god we have a large basement and a very organized storage system.

  • I most regularly read Budgets Are Sexy (general personal finance) Girl Meets Debt (lighthearted debt repayment), Six Figures Under (debt repayment with good food storage and make-your-own tips), and Money Under 30 (very straightforward info about lots of topics, especially basic investing)
  • I read the WSJ, financial times (the pink paper), and money magazine.

    I rarely read online blogs.

Definitely save those clothes. DD#2 has used so much of DD#1's things (not just every day clothes, but shoes, coats, hats, etc).. it's been great having two girls!

gosh, I'm hoping for a boy though!  My pregnancy with DD was horrid and I think a boy would be different.

I wanted a boy too- I was actually a little disappointed when we found out it was another girl (DH was really happy for another girl). The second she arrived, she's been the best baby. It must be because she's our 2nd, but everything went so much smoother and she's so laid back and easy going like DH. She and DD#1 are becoming great playmates too.. having 2 girls has really been awesome.

DD was a great baby and very laid back too.  Honestly gender doesn't really bother me, I just want a somewhat normal pregnancy next time, if there is such a thing.
