AW: WOOHOO!

We've officially paid off all of H's student loans with American Education Services, and 2 of my Sallie Mae loans!!!!

So happy to no longer have to deal with AES.  They bought out his loans 6 months ago, and won't even let me make a payment on them.  Even though he's authorized me on the account. They've also locked and closed his online account so we can't even gain access that way either.  They've been a real PITA and we're so happy to have made that payment yesterday.

Re: AW: WOOHOO!

  • Woohoo! Congrats! Your snowball is rolling big time.

    (Excuse the cheesiness)
  • What's sad is that half of this was just from buckling down for 3 months with our budget.

Why we held this off so long, I don't know.

  • Hah! I wish @vlagrl29 $70k :-(  We just had a decent Efund that we emptied all but the $1k of.   Then buckling down for 3 months and having decent bonuses and commissions helped too.

  • Congrats on getting those down!

I have AES also. I noticed last month that I don't have to pay my unsub loan and I only have to make payments to my sub loan. I thought that was very weird. I'm still going to pay for that loan though; luckily I am still able to mark payments for it.

That's weird they would lock the account.  But either way, congrats again!
