  • I would go in there ready to negotiate, perhaps with a portfolio or little speech about why you deserve more hours. Tell them you love working there, but may need to look at full time jobs elsewhere soon. I might not do this until you have something else in the pipeline, however. Just in case...

  • Agreed. They can't fault you for looking at what else is out there, howeveryou should try to work with them to let them know what you need for them to remain an option. 

    Job searching is an unbeleivably fustrating process.  We are currently dealling with the same situation with my H, he is suppose to put his part time job first, over everything, it has helped for him to be open with his boss and let him know that he will put that job first whenever he can, but that percluding him from pursuing an additional part-time job means he can't meet his financial obligations at home. 

    Make sure that you are not doing anything even remotely related to job searching while on the clock at your job.

  • Is there any kind of daytime, evening or weekend babysitting you can do? I did that throughout college and it was great.
