Affordable Wall Art - Where can I find it?

I have gotten a few pieces at Marshalls and Home Goods. But I need so much more stuff and just can't spend a ton of money right now.   Where did you find yours?

Re: Affordable Wall Art - Where can I find it?

  • I've made a bunch of ours with photos I've taken, a giant vintage map I found, two matched wreaths I made from fallen magnolia leaves that hang on either side of a doorway...

Etsy has cool art too, but really for art I like to accumulate it as I find something special/rivoting/meaningful rather than speed shop for it.

  • Besides DIY...I've bought some stuff from Overstock.com.  Great prices!

  • Hobby Lobby--basically every week half the store is 50% off. The next week the other half of the store is 50% off. So if you see something you like and it's full price, just wait a week until it goes on sale.

I've also gotten art for reasonable prices at Gordman's.

Walgreens has also started doing large canvas prints for about $40, so we've taken in some of our own photos and had them do canvases for us. They were ready the same day and a good quality.

  • Kirkland's. I shop their sales with a coupon which are easy to find online or through signing up for their promotional emails.

  • My favorite pieces of art were pieces that my godchildren created as toddlers.  I recently had them professionally matted and framed.  Originally, they were in cheap frames from Target.
  • Thrift stores and craft fairs!!!! I have gotten pieces that are gorgeous for like 5 dollers just because they were in a ugly frame at a thrift store. Totally worth looking into...micheals has tons of inexpensive frames in all sorts of sizes so it pretty easy to find a picture you like at thrift store and change it out to make it more suitible to your house.
  • I've made some - I'm still looking for some salvaged copper ceiling tiles for one space. . . I've also found great deals at Burlington Coat Factory.  Actually, I've bought several frames there, pulled out the picture and put my own photographs in having them professionally matted.  Turned out so pretty and a fraction of the cost I would have spent.

  • Ditto everything mentioned. Sometimes I find cool discounted pieces at Michaels in the "home accessories" section. I also recently made wall panels for my dining room. I only spent $8 because I had some materials, but even if I had to pay for the materials I already had, it would still be super cheap!

  • Bed Bath & Beyond often has art on clearance and you can use a 20% off coupon.  I've actually gotten some nice stuff from JC Penney too.
  • Another suggestion (I agree with all the others too!), Craigslist?

  • If you're willing to look into online sites, one place I've had a lot of success with is Lot 26 Studio (http://www.lot26.com). They have all sorts of different wall art, and a great sale page.
  • In the past I have gotten a lot of my wall art at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Lately I have been looking online because I have been into wall stickers and they are difficult to find in stores. WallPops is a pretty good place for wall stickers if you are going that route. Otherwise I think BB&B is going to be your best bet!

  • Michaels craft store can have some good deals on art and I've found some great pieces on Etsy.com.
  • Etsy.com You can find prints and original artwork for reasonable prices.

  • Be sure to check out Goodwill for cheap frames and fill them with prints from Etsy!

  • Ikea is another option - aside from what other people mentioned (DIY, Burlington, homegoods, marshalls, etc).
  • Has anyone ever checked out the Rumgr app? It's like thrifting through your neighbor's garage and I tend to find lots of wall art and frames on the cheap in my area.
