Vacation book recs needed!

We leave on Saturday, and I don't have my Kindle loaded yet. I'll read anything, and have read most, if not all, of the usual books recommended here. I need engaging, but light reads for the plane and by the pool.

Two books I know I'll load up are:
Time After Time, by Tamara Ireland Stone, and Into The Still Blue, by Veronica Rossi. Other than that, I'm stuck.

Re: Vacation book recs needed!

  • My IRL book club just finished This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper. It was definitely a quick read. Kind of twisted at times but good. Looking forward to the movie this fall! Jason Bateman plays the MC and he is perfect for it.

  • I read the first book in the Modern Witch series, so picking up a couple more is a good idea.

I have NOT read Legend, but have heard good things, so I'll pick up that, too!

  • I'm just finishing Reality Boy by A.S. King and I sped through it and am loving it! I really enjoy the way she writes, so anything from her would be a rec.

  • I second @mrsvedo This is Where I Leave You was one of my favorite books that I read last year!

City of Thieves by David Benioff was really good but I don't know if I'd consider it light...

Sleepwalk with Me and Other Painfully True Stories by Mike Birbiglia was pretty good.

I don't think Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson got much hype around here but it was really good IMO.

That's all I've got for right now!

  • Kiss of Fire by Rebecca Ethington is free right now on Kindle, and the rest of the series is discounted. I started it last weekend, and I've found it very entertaining, an easy read.
