So frustrated with my MIL right now...
So my DH was talking with his mom last night about our infertility issues and she basically told him that the reason I'm not ovulating or pregnant yet is because I'm worrying about it too much. She told him that if I just relaxed and stopped thinking about it, I would get pregnant.
I understand that there will always be people in our lives that don't understand infertility and PCOS and all the shit we all deal with but we (me and my DH) have been extremely open with both sides of our families about my issues. My MIL knows my history and the fact that I have always had irregular cycles. She seemed so empathetic and understanding when I told her. For her to tell DH that, I feel like she either doesn't believe me or thinks I am making my issues out to be more than they are or something. I don't know...its just frustrating. She's a really nice person and I'm sure it came from a place of love but its still so frustrating to hear her say things like that. She never had problems getting pregnant. She even had a surprise pregnancy after 40...so I know she hasn't experienced IF but seriously, she should still be able to understand.
*Deep breath* Ok...I'm done venting. Thanks for listening, ladies. I just had to unload that before it made me crazy!

I agree with @sewilson33 Explain PCOS to her and what it does to TTC.
FWIW, my SMIL kept telling us to not think about it and that it will happen when it's supposed to happen. She knew about me having PCOS, but didn't understand until I fully explained to her my diagnosis and how I don't get a period.

If she continues, then it might be best for me and DH to just not discuss our TTC journey with her. My relationship with her, while currently good, has been a bit shaky at times. I would hate to ruin it by blowing up in her face one day after she makes a rude/hurtful comment.

Definitely this. I am so sorry. My MIL didn't believe (or didn't want to believe) we were having issues for a long time, and we don't have a dx. I hope your conversation goes well with her when it's time to have it. I hope she is open and empathetic.

Hopefully, after she fully understands everything we are having to do, she will have a better perspective and will realize that certain comments won't be taken well.
