AW New Kitchen!!

mrshall1027 · February 2014

I also posted this on the GP board and facebook, so most of you have already seen it, but I just have to share EVERYWHERE!! lol

We are finally done with our kitchen! We started this project in August of 2012 and we buckled down and completed it this weekend. Before, it was dingy, dirty, and the cabinets were falling apart. The walls had painted over "poop green" wallpaper, the flooring was two layers of laminate, and it was just all around gross! We did all the work ourselves, except install the granite countertops. We demo'd everything, installed new cabinets, a new microwave, fridge, pendant and recessed lighting, backsplash, sink, and faucet.

Here's the before:

And here's the after

WOW! I love it!

I love the backsplash. Is that glass tile? I love glass tile backsplashes! I love the lights over the island too. Great job : )

Yeah, it's glass with some stone in it. It was a Home Depot special for like $4 a sheet! I actually installed it all by myself, so I'm pretty proud of that.

Google is our best friend!! Also, YouTube and HGTV.com are amazing resources. We were able to find so many tutorials on there that give great instructions. Plus, we always have HGTV shows on when we are home. That show "Renovation Realities" really motivates you to research what you are doing BEFORE you start! haha
