Date night ideas

Tim and I have made an effort to go on a once a month date night this year. So far it has only been twice, but it's something! This month we're looking to do something free or cheaper since money is going to be tighter in march. Any ideas for me? It's hard to come up with ideas with the weather working against us!

I don't think date night needs to be an elaborate plan, just some time away dedicated to spending time together. While a grownup dinner out is really nice. So is brunch at EatnPark or heck, panera does the same thing giving you time to talk and hang out without the little guy stealing away the attention.

Could you do a Friday night? The Warhol is doing free Friday nights in March.
Each Friday night from 5-10 they're doing a cash bar and will have a DJ playing funk, punk, reggae and rock.

Cheap night out, and you get to soak in some culture

There is some kind of public art installation at Market Square that might be neat to check out.

Is the PPG skating rink still open?

Bowling

You could do a date night in with a nice dinner, games, movie, etc.

Ice skating at north park was super cheap when I took Jake over the weekend...I don't know the exact break down of costs, but it was $10 for our 2 admissions and a skate rental for him.

Do you know about fillaseat? It is an $80 a year membership and then 2 free tickets to events that don't fill their seats (you can do one event a week). My husband and I are going to buy a membership and try it out this year.

Or do you like the bands? You can volunteer for an organization called Love Hope Strength and register folks for the national bone marrow registry before certain concerts and then stay and watch for free. We were asked to do a Flogging Molly concert this weekend, but we have too much going on. Too bad they are a fun band.

Awesome ideas! Thanks, ladies! We started babysitting swapping with my sister and BIL and we're all thrilled with it. At the end of the previous month I text her dates that we have free next month. She picks days that work for them out of the ones i send. Then she picks a day for their date (when we watch my nephew) and I pick one for ours (when they watch Logan). I'd highly recommend finding someone to trade babysitting with if you hate paying for a babysitter all the time.

Mcmfan, I'd be interested to see what you think of fillaseat. I saw it on groupon or living social and i tried researching what was included online, but all I can gather is that if you say which events you get they'll revoke your membership. I'd love to hear your overall impression (but not so much that you get kicked out.

Sarah-the trade off deal is awesome!! Because for as much as we love getting out by ourselves, who wants to fork over a bunch of money to a babysitter on top of what you are already going to pay to have a night out?? And I hate relying on my mom all the time, I mean, she's happy to do it, but it's just not feasible to have her come here all the time.

AGREED. We'd love to get out more, but when it comes to hiring a sitter it seems like prices went up a great deal from when I babysat back in the day:P My dad isn't quite comfortable babysitting yet and we feel like we're being a burden always relying on an aunt.
